Saw this on HFboards, also gave me the idea to start this thread. TO VANCOUVER Dion Phaneuf Jake Gardiner Colton Orr Tyler Bozak TO TORONTO Alex Edler Chris Tanev Ryan Kesler Bo Horvat Kassian Toronto gets a young up coming D Tanev who has offense upside Also get Edler a top 3 D who can shut down player and can get points They also get kassian and Horvat a good TWF for Toronto is what thy are missing And Kesler helps the loss of a true #1 d we lost (Phaneuf) Vancouver gets a solid #1 D and a up coming shutdown d And canucks get a real mean PWF Orr who can make the team more tough And you guys give us kassian because Orr is leaving, even though kassian is not better. It was not a troll, I honestly thought it was a equal trade. Three problems: 1) Vancouver doesn't need a shakeup type deal, but rather an additional piece 2) Both Canucks have more value than their individual counterparts (Phaneuf is a pending UFA while Edler is a 40-50 point d-man on a good deal, Bozak is a 2B and is on a worse contract than Kesler (a 1B)) 3) This trade doesn't meet Vancouver's needs (actually makes the need worse); offense Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
