how come when someone throws a hit or trys to throw a hit at henrik everyone loses their mind mostly garret and keeps saying things like "went after henrik" or "took a run at henrik" how about he went to throw a hit on the puck carrier...... and a question for people who think suspensions should be based on actions and not the result of the actions.. do you think sestito should be suspended for doing pretty much what thornton did which was fighting a guy that didnt want to fight ??

you're a know nothing idiot.the game before nolal tryed to injure sedin with a blatant hit to the head.no penalty.thats when the players take matters in their own hands.you've never played hockey or lacrosse thats obvious.

Respect is a luxury that highly skilled players have. The mid-range players on the Canucks cannot afford to have too much respect, if any at all. Respect exists in the rarified air that Crosby and Datsyuk breath, not the Dale Weises and Tom Sestitos of the world. What has Daniel and Henrik's respectful and Gentlemanly game garnered for them....zilch. Do you think Toews and others respect them? Not a chance. Who respects someone that doesn't stand up for themsleves? People respect power and people who give them cause to be afraid....everyone else is just a tool to be used for one's own ends.

People generally respect those of humility, integrity and honesty...if you play with those things, it comes with that. Power doesn't bring respect, in the end, respect is earned it isn't demanded. You can play the game with power, have an ego and care little about those around you...won't generate much respect in that. But if you work hard, play an honest game and show respect to others, that will likely send it back your way.

Those with power who fail to demonstrate the traits I've suggested generally won't be respected despite that "power". They're just too stupid to understand that.

You're honestly way off track if you don't think the Sedins are "respected" in this league. On the ice, some of those asshats who don't understand the whole element of respect (those "too stupid ones") will abuse them...but those are their deficiencies, not the Sedins.

Yes, those are traits people respect, but not in sports. Sports is a results based buisiness. Win and all is forgotten. Who wants to be a loser AND a nice guy to boot? That's like having two strikes against you. In sports, we respect the people who go down swinging. Your attitude guarnatees this will be a Stanley Cup free zone in perpetuity...hey, but at least you can sleep at night...lol.Oh, and by the way, you say people don't respect power. Rather, you say that respect is earned. Again, we are talking about different arenas. Sure, you must earn respect in a businiss or professional environment. But, you must not have played conact sports in your life, because I guarantee you after an opposing player caves in your skull with an elbow you'll have a whole new respect for that guy; I dare say he may even have earned your respect, because if he hasn't the next elbow is likely to end your career. This is why players repsected Scott Stevens...to not do was to risk being killed.Stick to golf.
