Unless Shanabum is capable of performing 'open heart surgery' on the Leafs, I guess Carlyle is a perfect scapegoat, thus buying Non-uts another year .. tanking is Option B. The 2006/7 Ducks won the Cup IN SPITE of Carlyle, not BECAUSE of Carlyle.Then again, they could be extending him just to give him the axe after 20 games next season too which is highly plausible if the Leafs don't PDO out of their mind at the start of the season.
