Jai604
Anyone watching this major tournament? Been some big upsets so far this tourney. Amazing action. Cloud9 (the only American team left) acquitting themselves quite well. Currently 1-1 in maps against NiP. Do any of you guys play Counterstrike still? The game is bigger than it's ever been. Mimerez
I was going for Epsilon, but oh well. To answer your question, I love counterstrike GO. Play it whenever I have time.

Well, I only started playing about 2 months ago, and that was only because it was on sale. Also, skins.
Go Faulk Yourself
Looks like NiP won. NiP is just on another level in terms of how good they are. They were the winners before this thing even began.
Jai604
what made CS popular again? i remember when CSGO came out, and for about 8 months after that, it had really low player base. but in the last 6 months its exploded. what happened? Valve made some tweaks to the game, made some improvements, and then they dropped the hammer: they added skins, cases, and keys. Just like Dota. CSGO basically exploded after that. A massive influx of casuals started to play and started putting money into the game. As a result, with all the money Valve has been making on their key sales and the microtransactions, they've been able to fund some major tournaments in the last year. Sure, the tournaments aren't on The International's level, but Valve has helped fund three major tournaments of $250000 so far. The last tournament in Cologne had over 400000 unique viewers. CSGO is now one of the top games on Twitch TV. Basically all the money up for grabs now has improved the professional scene as well. More money, more people trying to be pros, more teams. Back when NiP went on their 85-0 LAN unbeaten streak, nobody else was anywhere near them because there was no motivation. Now with the majors, there are around 10 teams that have the ability to win the big tournaments, with another 6 teams or so with an outside chance. Counterstrike now has gotten bigger than it ever was, even in 1.6. The playerbase is getting bigger every day, and some of the skins you can get in the game go for thousands of dollars. Yes, thousands. It's insane.
