Ghostsof1915
As per TSN. Assistant GM Jeff Gorton will take over as GM. Sather will retain his President's duties. Certainly in his last years as GM, he figured out the cap era.
Green Building
Weird. On day one of free agency no less.
HC20.0
Long time coming for Rangers fans. He had success in the last couple seasons, but he wasn't popular before then. Resigning on the start of free agency though is pretty odd.
Amish Rake Fighter
Weird. On day one of free agency no less. It was probably a tribute to some of his greatest free agent signings. Bobby Holik - 5 years @ 9 million, bought out. Wade Redden - 6 years @ $6.5 million, bought out. Scott Gomez - 7 years @ $7 million, traded for Higgins, bought out. Chris Drury - 5 years @ $7 million, bought out. Darius Kasparaitis - 6 years @ $5 million, waived, sent to the minors. He also just did something I've never seen a GM do before; trade away four 1st round picks in a row (2013-16) including 2 for St. Louis.
