Aaron Dell - 2 years x 1.25M

The Sharks are thrilled to bring in Aaron. Talbot has had to carry the load by himself (for the most part) all season, and this signing gives him a quality backup capable of playing more games.

New Jersey Devils The Devils are now exploring options on our assets moving towards the Trade Deadline. We are not exposing players like Roman Josi or Filip Forsberg to the trade market, because the Devils are near the bottom does not mean its in our best interests to move our top end talent " contrary to apparently many of your frame of mind here lol ".

The team will explore moving players by the deadline and are seeking to build up our position in the upcoming draft.

Dallas Stars 3 Stars of the Month - (Sponsored by Texas Roadhouse, Cabela's, and Hooters):

1st Star ★: Peter Budaj (80 FP)

Peter has consistently been our best player most of the year. We feel incredibly lucky to have been able to sign him, and are very impressed with his efforts overall. With Quick being out for another couple months, Peter will continue to be the starter in L.A. - we look forward to him continuing to put up great numbers.

2nd Star ★★: Ryan Suter (67 FP)

Playing on a fantastic Minnesota team this year, Ryan put up 2 Goals and 7 Assists to lead all of our skaters in points this month. After watching him play in person last night, I can easily say he is one of the league's elite Two-Way defensemen. He can both quarterback the powerplay and stop the league's elite in regards to players like McDavid. It's a pleasure having him on our team, and we hope he continues to build on what looks to be a career year.

3rd Star ★★★: Mikko Koivu (60 FP)

As the Captain of one of the league's best teams right now, Mikko put up 6 Goals and 6 Assists this month and looks to be on pace for about 61-62 points. We are excited about what the Wild could possibly do in the playoffs, especially considering we have 3 players on the team.

Honourable Mentions: Mike Smith (60 FP), Patrick Kane (57 FP), and Ivan Provorov (43 FP).

Dishonourable Mentions: Artemi Panarin (35 FP) and Rasmus Ristolainen (27 FP).

As a whole, we need more from our players in general. A rough month from both Artemi and Rasmus didn't help. Of course the main focus is playoffs, but placing 8th overall in total points is not good enough to stay in a position to give us an advantage in the long run - especially considering we are in a very deep Western Conference.

3 Stars of the Vancouver Canucks

First Star: Braden Holtby

It's one thing to be on a stacked cap team, it's another to collect the shutouts on a stacked cap team. You definitely deserve to be the POTM.

Second Star: Matt Niskanen

With 73 points, Niskanen has proven that he is still a capable derenseman that needs to be reckoned with.

Third Star: Jake Muzzin

Yet another defenseman makes this list, and for good reason. Muzzin is carrying the La defense and lifting them to wins. Good on ya bro.

HM: Danault, Dumba

DM:Daniel Sedin, Henrik Sedin, Michael Hutchinson

Is it bad that I didn't realize it was February until I saw the above posts?

Time for Masters and Disasters for the San Jose Sharks - January Edition

Masters

The Oilers - Talbot, McDavid, Draisaitl, and Klefbom all continue to shine, and have been the driving force of this team. They continue to impress.

Brooks Orpik - he's quietly been successful, notching 46 of his 110 points during the month. His role is to shut down the opposition, but he's found a way to do that while chipping in some offence.

Brandon Carlo - After a hot start Carlo had cooled down lately... until January where he picked it up again. He's been a pleasant surprise to say the least.

Disasters

Nick Bonino - Not his greatest month, but he'll pick it up.

Radko Gudas - His RL Flyers have struggled, and he's suffered from it. He's still the 2nd highest scoring defenceman on the team so I'm not worried.

Devin Setoguchi - For a guy who didn't play last year, he's putting up decent numbers. It is a bit concerning that he was a healthy scratch at times though.

Overall, I'm very pleased with the team. They dominated this month, putting up 858 points, with the next closest being 820. It was looking like 1st was out of the question, but they proved me wrong. This spot will be very difficult to hold, so it should be an interested 2nd half. Keep up the great work Sharks!
