12-16-FG
With the loss of Tryemkin, Van can't afford to trade Tanev. And hopefully Rodin gets his shot. No more disabled list. The last 3 years we have seen Van get decimated by injuries on both forward and defensive positions. And this next year will be the same. This is where we find out the value of Subban and others. GIVE THE KID A SHOT. Same goe's for Valk. Sign him and see what happens. He maybe small ish, but some players were born to play the game. No more deals this year, we have quality coming, and with this next draft, currency for the future. All we are missing is a 1-2 center, this will be the last year for the Sedins, Danial will get his 1000 point and he deserves to do it in a canucks jersey. Be patient guy's and gal's it will get better.
48MPHSlapShot
Tanev's no-trade kicks in after this off-season, and his value will never be higher than it is right now. The team will be terrible next season regardless of whether or not Tanev is here, so move him for the highest return possible. Also, Tanev being gone opens up a slot for someone like a Subban/Juolevi/Pedan to step in. Next years draft, in which we will again likely have a lottery pick, looks to be EXTREMELY top heavy in D, so that's likely where we land our next top Dman. Tanev would be a huge gain for a contender and we may get to wrangle out a mid-2018 pick vs one this year. I do think a Tanev trade makes a lot of sense but we have a few windows for it coming up so Jim doesn't have to have any urgency to do something now, he can wait for a good deal. I would add that if Edler agrees to waive we trade him for sure. Maybe even Edler this year and Tanev next. Draft Liljegrin this year and hopefully trade for another first with our D to pick a C. I would even be tempted to trade Hutton or Sbisa as well. I think a strong fast defence is going to be very important in coming years and exactly what we should be drafting. Sign a UFA D or two and flip one at the deadline. UFA-Tanev Juolevi-Gudbranson Sbisa/Hutton-Stetcher Pedan-Subban
Adarsh Sant
Trading Tanev now would get a decent return and would also help the Tank in 2018. So Win-Win.
