The Minnesota Wild activate Dustin Byfuglien from the IR

This puts us over the cap but a pending trade call will bring us back under

In fact this move CAN be made because it does NOT put you over the cap, it would otherwise be void.

Why is this?  Great thing about and unique to CDCGML only is the real life use of pro-rated salaries.

You will find on your team sheets, salaries of players acquired via trade or players coming off the LTIR for example with actual cap against your team salary cap vs their initial caphit.

Just one feature we use in this League to mirror the real thing!

Hi all

Just popping up to let you all know Philly is open for business. After a good start things went downhill for us and while I'm hoping for a big bounce back next season currently I'm open to discussing deals for the few guys that I have that might be playoff bound. But all names are open because if the deal is right I'm looking to shake things up.

As the deadline approaches, there are many GML plot lines that are interesting to follow. The Bruins certainly has their share, but I thought I’d share one... net was once the largest short-coming of the Bruins... problem solved (7 players deep!)

GOALTENDING (um, we have 3 starters)

- two years ago, Howard was injured and playing tandem at best, so we made a move to acquire Ben Bishop

- we’ve actively tried to shop Jimmy Howard for two years, but never received anything close to appropriate (last year I turned down a low 3rd... that was the best offer received).

- been planning to re-sign Bishop all year

- Howard produces an all-star year

- Howard in deadline trade talks across the NHL

- Binnington steps into starter role in St Louis

minors - kasanir kaskisuo - random fa signing/sees NHL icetime

minors - oscar dansk - offer sheet/sees NHL icetime

juniors - ukka pekka luukonen !!!

juniors - keith petruzelli

i don’t know where this is all going, but I’m guessing my non-playoff bound Bruins get a goaltending makeover this deadline... I don’t see a scenario in which Binnington gets traded, you’d have to come with fat wallet to make that happen.

does this make make you wanna have a chat?

Ps... I signed Binnington to a contract when he was barely known, and developed him for 3-4 years... next time someone wants to know why I love my prospects, it’s because these moments are amongst the most rewarding the league has to offer . Take chances, protect your prospects!

I follow this religiously, I protect my prospects within each of the other 30 member clubs in the League. ::D

TRADE: The Minnesota Wild have made a trade with the New York Islanders.

To NYI:

A powerhouse gains a powerhouse dman while the rebuilding Wild grab a young productive player at both forward, defense, while adding a prospect and two top picks. Solid return on Byfuglien. I like this trade for the Wild.

Minnesota has needed a deal like this for five years. Nice work to both GMs!

Absolutely thrilled to have Dustin join the team and would also like to thank @Dak Prescott for the smooth negotiations.

We wish nothing but the best for Joe, Samuel and Ryan.

With the position we are in we believed that adding Dustin would only increase our chances at a solid playoff run and a potential championship.

it was really really really a tough decision. but schenn is also good and young.  and i still have a bunch of youngster there with ehlers, pettersson , white ,kyrou , sprong, zadina ... and with some luck another top pick in 2019.
