Also, once he leaves the teams seem to improve. Double ouch.

Goalies have been subpar this year - both are under 0.900 and apparently well below their expected save percentage. More generally Nashville was already not really clicking last year. Poile kept pretty much the same group save for Fiala-Granlund swap and Duchene in lieu of Subban. They have enough talent to win games here and there but they aren't taking over games like they did a few seasons ago. The swagger seems to be missing at times. They used to push the pace and suffocate opponents because they kept on coming in waves. They used to have so much speed but every team now has added speed so it's no longer a separating advantage. It's also too many shots from far out and not enough plays in the high scoring areas. There seems to be an over-reliance on their Ds to shoot the puck but it's from too far out. It's volume of shots over quality.

I'm aware there's far more to it than Duchene alone, but I just find it interesting that whatever team he's on, they seem to all underachieve (doesn't help if he's ragging the coach amongst other players though, so who knows). Almost like Taylor Hall teams are lotto winners, not because of Hall, but a strange coincidence.
