  4. here is some info on the giant spruce between honeymoon bay and Renfrew. would only take 5 min to see and breaks up the drive. I see it on google maps as well http://www.sitesandtrailsbc.ca/search/search-result.aspx?site=REC163931&type=Site
  5. Honeymoon Bay/ Renfrew Along The road from Honeymoon Bay to Renfrew has some hidden stops. One of them has one of the largest old growth trees only 10 - 20 m off the road if I remember correctly. Avatar grove is somewhere close as well, I think it is up the Gordon River road when you get down to Renfrew. Search online for some stops along this road. The beach in Renfrew would be fun and is similar to Long Beach in Tofino. If you have a small boat or canoe the estuaries of the two rivers, San Juan and Gordon on either end of the beach would be fun to explore. Good fishing as well. Cowichan River is a world class fly fishing river but for the kids the most fun would be renting the inner tubes and floating down the Cowichan. The upper part near city of Lake Cowichan is pretty relaxing. The middle part has some parts you may have to walk around depending on water levels. Look up the Tube Shack Cowichan River to rent tubes and I think they have a bus to drive you back to top.
  6. Courtenay/Comox area If you want adventure the zip lines on Mt Washington look unreal. Did a split to the top of the boomerang chair this Spring and could see a zip line from the top of Mt Washington to the top of the Boomerang chair. Then another zipline from that chair down to the top of the Eagle chair. You cant really see the zip lines in this video but you can see the top of the Mt and the two chair lifts I mentioned and get an idea of how extreme this zip line is. Actually found a video of the zip line... looks like fun but maybe too much for 10 year olds? Maybe some downhill bike riding is better? If you are into fishing you may be able to go to mouth of Oyster River, Nile Creek and do some beach fishing for Salmon. Or in the Campbell River near the mouth is fun, especially for Pink salmon.
  7. yeah I just looked him up to see what he has been doing and it looks like he played mainly in the ECHL last year. Hope he can at least get back to the AHL soon. That COVID year probably didnt help his development any (same with Rathbone)
  8. DiPietro saw the writing on the wall early I guess
  9. I hope the resident pods dont suddenly learn to eat surfers due to the lack of salmon
