Odds and history say we will probably lose this one but there are reasons why games are played, and I am a believer that trends has to be broken at some point. A package to bring in both Toffoli and Martinez would be something to consider. Don’t give up A level prospects to them, and we have to give them some salaries/contracts back ourselves to make it work though.

Also, player like Tkachuk is a reason why I want Tryamkin to be back with the Canucks. Hope he “richardsoned” Tkachuk when he eventually returns to the league. I have said it all along, Tkachuk is a piece of $&!# and I have never liked him even before the draft. Still glad he is not a Canuck.

The 4 losses last season was a bit flukey tbh. First meeting was a game where the Canucks were without both Pettersson and Boeser in the line up in the 2nd half of a back to back, really didn’t stand any chance for a win. Then there are the 2 OTL on home ice which really could’ve gone either way. The last one sucks as it was the infamous 4-goal game by former Canuck Brad Richardson. Hopefully, this year the team takes these 4 meetings with the Coyotes seriously and we win the majority of them.

However, at the end of the day, when Hughes was available and was picked by the Canucks, this is the best reaction:

LA is similar to the Canucks a few seasons ago. Got an older core needs to insulate young players. They have good prospects, but not quite NHL ready yet.
