The Color Purple - 7.5/10
Finally got around to seeing it. The acting was outstanding (particularly Oprah...who knew?), and some parts were definitely entertaining, but overall it wasn't cohesive enough for me to rate it worth the critical acclaims it received.

Role Models - 7/10
Had some good laughs, but I was hoping for more. Didn't like Paul Rudd's character much...whereas I usually love the guy.

Paul Blart, Mall Cop - 5/10
Cute, but some parts were genuinely awful. Worth a viewing if you want a family film, but nothing more.

Does awesome mean 7.5/10? What terms above awesome?

With these number systems, there's always a problem of scale.

The movie is over by that point. Decreasing points because of a bonus tribute to Bollywood (which you obviously don't 'get') in the credits is kind of stupid.

What you're basically saying is that running the credits along a black backdrop would make the film better.

Sometimes I think the surest sign that intelligent life exists somewhere in the universe is that none of it has tried to contact us.

It bugs me when people pull out the gold medal for an example... Luongo only had to outplay Brodeur.

Valkyrie 4.5/10

Tom Cruise should not make Nazi movies...and there should be a cap on the total number of Nazi/holocaust movies made!

Would have been a fantastic movie with better casting, writing, and directing. So close....

edit: love the sig, Westy.

Watchmen - 7.5/10

Avoided the hype/spoilers as much as possible before catching this, so I didn't really know what to expect. I thought it was nice to see a film about superheroes where they actually have some major character flaws & lead less-than-perfect lives, & Rorschach's line at the end of the cafeteria scene was just hilarious. Would've rated the film a little higher if I hadn't been subjected to so many shots of Dr. Manhattan's junk, 'cause glowing blue penis just ain't my thing. :P

Madagascar Escape 2 Africa: 8:10 good funny humour, but there wasn't really any plot at all, even for a kids movie. But damn do I love penguins vs. monkey unions.

Repo: The Genetic Opera

Easily full marks. It was absolutely brilliant and the music is very catchy. The Graverobber is pretty cute, too! haha
And what's weird is that Paris Hilton is awesome in this movie (that's right, I said Paris Hilton and awesome in the same sentence). But, you have to see it - really!

I saw Watchmen as the last new movie. 8/10. Well done, good effects, the actress who played the Spectre or what ever her name was was goregous, the musical score was great, so was the soundtrack, and the only black mark was the overall message of the movie, or at least the message I picked up on anyway, made me feel depressed. You can do everything right, save the world and you're still screwed.

I watched Thunderball the other night too. 7.5/10. Awesome, even after watching it on TV twice in a week.

Let The Right One In - 1700 sharp fangs/400 buckets of blood. Brilliant vampire movie that turns the entire genre on its head. Twilight can suck a lemon, there's no way it holds a candle to this Swedish horror film/love story.

haha, the first thing my friend said to me after watching it was "blue penis" :P
honestly though, dispite a lot of talk about it, I didn't really notice it that much.

btw, that caf scene was probably my favorite in the whole movie, Rorschach became my favourite character because of it

You can do everything right, save the world and you're still screwed.

hmm, the theme I got was is it morally right to willingly kill millions in order to save billions

btw, Watchmen got 9.6/10 from me. Only thing I really didn't like was Nixon's nose. Distracted me from what was going on in the movie.
