NuxFan09
good showing so far, i think we might just keep him in the system after all.
EternalCanuckFan
Matson seems to be getting decent minutes (even with the net empty at the end of the Wolves-Stars game). I wonder if he may be able to bring a more well-rounded game than a guy like Stefan Schneider.
FrancoL
Matson scored his first professional goal tonight in a 7-5 win for the Wolves over the Grand Rapids Griffins. Matson seems like a hard-working and determined player. Let's hope he develops well in the AHL.

EternalCanuckFan
I apologize for necro-bumping this thread but with the recent passes on Iilahti and Hannay, I'm curious about whether the Canucks have lost their rights to Taylor Matson as well. canucklehead44
He played a bit for the Wolves, put up 3 points in 10 games. He captained the University of Minnesota last season and his point totals improved each season (mind you he played more games each season): 1, 5, 13, 23. Might make it as a bottom 6 guy eventually due to his speed and defensive abilities but is a long shot.
Joel Heyman
Not sure if the Canucks will, but the Wolves definitely will.
DeNiro
We should hope for him to be a good 4th line checker on the Canucks some day. It'll be tough, but he sounds like a character guy with good leadership skills. Those guys usually have a good head on their shoulders, and with a postitive attitude and hard work he may make it. EternalCanuckFan
He seemed to make a spot for himself with the Wolves late last season so it would be nice to see him get a shot with the Canucks. He provides a bit more depth at centre at the very least. From what I can tell he does seem like a long shot to spend time with the Canucks and if MG is cautious about who he hands contracts out to, he might not make the cut. I am assuming that Oreskovich is not going to be qualified this summer though so hopefully that will make room for Matson.
