after today's sad sad trading of Hodgson, as if Raymond didn't have enough pressure already.

Enjoy it grasshopper. Every one wanted you gone, but yet, you're still here, and instead, the fan favorite is now history. No pressure though.

I wish you the same severe and withering criticism in your life as you are happy to meet out to this decent player. Watch out what goes around comes around.

haha somebody call the waaaaambulance!

Well good on Raymond for surviving the deadline.
I will hope that he can turn his season around now now that the deadline is behind him.

I really hope they try Raymond with Kassian. It could have the Boston effect of having weaker players step up and act/play like tough guys because they know they have backup.

I honestly think Raymond will be fine.

I'd like to see Kassian on the second line but I suspect he'll start on the 3rd. It could possibly even be the fourth until he's more aware of our system and gets some time with the team. What I'd most like to see is trying Kassian on the 1st PP with the Sedins and move Kesler back to the 2nd unit. The second unit gets stronger and Kassian could get a huge confidence boost playing with the set up Sedins. He's a big body that goes to the net, will be tough to move, and he shoots right.

Hey, we agree for once! lol

I would love it if Kassian can be a net presence like a Byfuglien on the 1st unit...

AVs playing favourites again....

That spin-o-rama is embarrassing, even when he's scored with it in the past, it's a lame move.

Vancouver's 2nd line has no chemistry. Raymond does nothing other than turning over the puck when he crosses the offensive blue line as he falls on ice so often and so consistent. Raymond is at best a 3rd or 4th liner where he is effective because he can uae his speed to cover up his mistakes backchecking or get a scoring opportunity playing against less skilled opponents. If Raymond is kept on the 2nd line by moron AV, Vancouver will soon see a goal draught now that Hodgson is gone because both the 2nd and 3rd lines won't score and the twins are easily shut down.

Sorry to disillusion you but I live in sunny Fife 25 miles from St Andrews famous golf course. The sun always shines here and this has been a record winter for good weather and high temperatures. Not a flake of snow and seldom even a frost.

I am an extremely happy guy (as you seem concerned) and that is why the amount of time and energy hating and downing on one decent player on here by the usual suspects prompts me to his defence.

No one deserves the kind of rubbish printed about him by the CDC jackals that he has had to endure. He is one of our own players and not only is it disloyal but it is immature and crass.

The funny thing is these people (and you) actually think their posts matter. Newsflash! Raymond is still here, despite all your pathetic efforts, as I thought he would be. It is obvious by the stepped up hate you clowns are even more rabid now............and I love it! :emot-parrot:

Viking13 do you seriously think these hate posters are happy and "enjoying a chuckle" (au contraire they only get there jollies off by posting their daily fix of hate) It just bugs you that there are some decent folk out here who still believe in supporting the guys who wear the jerseys.

Let me repeat for your edification. I hope every one of you meet the same biased hatred in your workplace as you are prepared to anonymously meat out here............and just for you Viking13 ha, ha, ha, :)

For the Raymond lovers who keep defending his 2nd line ice time status:

I keep hearing these excuses

He works hard
He came back from a career threatening back injury

So tell me again, why can't he play on the 3rd or 4th line until he feels 100% and is showing he can play on the 2nd line?

He clearly isn't playing up to his "so called potential" right now but we are playing him over Booth and Higgins.

Maybe the best move should be to drop him to 3rd and let him get back in his groove and if Higgins, Booth, Kassian falters, Raymond gets another shot?

Do you guys really think he's better suited than the 3 players I mentioned for 2nd line?

I actually saw this happening last night. In my eyes Raymond was playing well alongside Kassian, skating well, and distributing the puck well. Since Raymond is here to stay, for him to be effective I think he should play with Kassian.

A very good game by Mason Raymond last night in Phoniex. 18 minutes of ice, 4 shots, 1 hit, 2 take aways, and he drew 2 penalties. Protected the puck very well last night and was one of the Canucks best players. For those that think he played poorly than you either didn't watch the game, know absolutely nothing about hockey, or just like to push the hate button.

Raymond, if you're reading this, hang out in Arizona for a bit, get your hands on some peyote, you'll have no problems falling after this because you'll be able to walk up trees.

Booth is a nightmare on this team. He can't be on a line where we already have Kes because Kes is also greedy but the difference is, he can cut it and has chemistry with Raymond.

Higgins has slumped, no one can deny that but he has a valid excuse.

Lastly please leave me out of the "Raymond lovers" It really wouldn't bother me if he was in the team or not. However I watch the games (sometimes more than once) and it seems to me he is a victim of crass assassination of his game and his character.

Lying about a player, doesn't go down well with me so I support him on here as long as he is giving his all and wears the jersey. I have never said he is perfect but which of our players are?

I will repeat here what doesn't seem to penetrate the cerebrally challenged Raymond hate campaigners. THIS IS JUST A FORUM, NO ONE IN THE ORGANISATION GIVES A -----WHAT YOU THINK.

They have Raymond under their "mistakes only microscope" and that's all they'll see. I don't know how many times analysts have said Raymond played a great game in the last dozen or so. Then I come on here and it's all about how crappy Raymond played. It's amazing how that microscope wipes out each and every good play.

Actually Bodee, if you read my previous posts in this topic I NEVER said I hated Raymond or anything remotely close to it... I actually gave him props as a third line player and a PK specialist... That, my friend is not negative or hate, it was my own objective opinion on Mase... Yes, there are some here that have nothing but drivel to throw into any number of topics, but I'm not one of them... Rather than ranting on about me, perhaps go back and re-read what I said about Raymond rather than ASSUME that I'm a hater... Oh and you should take some things with a grain of salt, sir... Not all of what people write or say is intended to be taken so seriously (eg. my sunshine comment, it's metaphoric in meaning not literal) That is all...

To everyone spouting off about Raymond because he`s on the 2nd line, blame the coach then.

I think it should be like this:

Daniel - Henrik - Burrows
Booth - Kesler- Higgins
Raymond - Lapierre - Hansen
Malhotra - Pahlsson - Kassian

Pahlsson is simply NOT a 3C on a contender. Lapierre would bring more to the table offensively.

I think this is closer to what we might see as the season progresses. However, if Higgins doesn't start producing, I could see him and Kassian being swapped...

Pahlsson *is* a 3c on a contender. He was brought in for his defensive ability and for face-offs. He will be a perfect addition to the third line, which is a checking line. Pahlsson also created a number of good chances in the Phoenix game. His puck handling skills were quite impressive.

I do not care if Sammy Pahlsson scores. It would be nice if he did, but if he ends the season and the playoffs without having had a single goal scored by the opposition while he was on the ice then I'll be very happy with him.

G.
