tricarboxylic
The obvious: Luongo.
brob89
Luongo. Factors: Recent play has been more impressive than Kipper's and age. I have nothing critical to say about Kipper, hate the flames, but he has been amazing for a long time... but his time is waning. Luongo still has 3-5 good ones left. ILL BILL NECRO
Kipper is elite because.....?! For not ever wiinning a cup, and not making the playoffs in 3 years and this makes Kipper elite and Luongo not......ookkk

tricarboxylic
Then, just make an intellignetly-placed thread saying we should acquire Kipper! Do it! God, obviously, KIPPER who has no medals and no real accolades is far better than Luongo!
cdubuya
The question isn't who is the better goalie. It's whose more valuable on the market.
Mata10
I think Lu has more value, but I would go for Kipper, because of the terms of contract. And because of Kipper's consistency.
Newsflash
He finished the tournament with the second highest GAA, and one of the worst save percentages.

MoneypuckOverlord
Luongo has more trade value, because he is better goalie, and there's no worry of him being a UFA. Has people forgotten the value of a long term contract? For example, the value of Ryan Suters is low because his contract ends this summer, over someone like Kevin Bieska! Your not really going to tell me because Suters contract is shorter, his contract is better? Yea, his contract is not as crazy, but Kippursoft as everyone has pointed out, ENDS IN 2 SEASONS, as for Luongo theres no fear in him becoming a UFA, which gives him more value. That being said, it's understandable, that there will be some gm's not interested in a 10 year contract, but cmon, honestly, he will probably retire after the 7th, and it's not like he's not tradeable. He has a NTC, but if the team wants to trade him, they will ask him to waive it, which he will probably do. So of course, Luongo being a better goalie, accomplished more, and longer term contract, he will get a higher return in a trade then Kippursoft. He's elite? For frack sakes, LUongo's mistakes is magnified because those are mistakes, however, Luongo is playing in playoffs while Kippursoft is already home golfing! More wins, more shutouts,Kippursoft was playing inspirational hockey, but faded out the last 7 games. so no Luongo has more trade value because He's a better goalie. That's all I have to say. Kippursoft has not made the playoffs in 3 straight years. IF he was really that good, he could have helped his team into 8th place.

Baercheese
lmao put the Canucks team in front of Kipper and see how many games he can win too. What a dumb argument The only reason we're not getting lottery picks is solely because of Kipper With a way shjttier team, Kipper is better than Luongo at GAA and save% lol homers On topic, not to mention Kipper's NMC is lifted this summer so there would be way more options to explore. Plus he only has 2 years remaining rather than
ILL BILL NECRO
This means that there are a ton of goalies in this world that would be classified as more Elite than Luongo

Westcoasting
It's a toss up... Lou is two years younger which is big at their ages, but he has the longer contract so they both work out about the same. Both goalies record speaks for itself and it's too hard to tell the difference unless they played on the same team.
