Southpop45
1) tampa has now aquired lindback from nashville for essentaily two 2nds and 3rd round pick. not too sure if this is good news or bad news for the lu situation, on one hand one more goalie is off the market but on the other one more team is out of the race. 2) you know for sure that burke had to at least inquire about lindback and apparently he wouldnt even give up two 2nds and 3rd rounder for the young goalie so that says something right there. 3) bernier is another option for toronto but highly doubt bernier will be traded until quick is signed long term. 4) harding is the only real option left for toronto besides lu but nowhere near in lu's league not to mention that chicago, and columbus will be interested in him as well

KeslerBEAST
Yzerman doesn't seem like the type of guy who wants to make those big deals. He tries to fix the problems defensively by getting some mediocre dmen and hopes it will fix the problem and it seems like he's doing the same with the goaltending. eretz canucks
38 NHL games .912 sv% on a defence first team... Yikes!!! Used very little down the stretch when NSH was going to finish either 4th or 5th, which meant they'd play DET either way
DeNiro
Lindback is one half of a goalie tandem. They still need a second goalie. The question is, is Lindback the number 1 or the backup? Either way I don't think Yzerman is willing to part with young players for Schneider or Luongo.
TOMapleLaughs
Lindback might not even be able to become a starter, due to adult-onset still's disease. Frankly, it's a miracle that he's able to play sports at all with chronic arthritic inflammation. He takes Kineret daily for the pain, but that drug only slows the disease's progression. I'm no Dr. Recchi, but it sounds like the guy's future as a starting goaltender is in jeopardy. Perhaps Luongo and Schneider are still on the table to TB afterall. Cheers. Langdon Algur
I don't really see Lindback as a starter (Yzerman may disagree) so Tampa could very well still be considering one of the Canucks goalies but I agree this trade makes it less likely
Dr. J.
But we don't need both goalies. I would much rather trade one (Luongo) and get a player that can help us win a cup. Lets face it, the Canucks window of opportunity is shrinking every year. We can bring Lack up into a back up roll. All the Canucks need to do is make the playoffs. We don't need 2 "#1" goalies to do that. Trade Luongo now for a star player that can help us win the cup while that window is at it's biggest. Neversummer
Bit of a strange move for Stevie Y ... don't see what all the hype about Lindback is. Lindback's stats are unimpressive at best, not proven that he can start. Is he trying to set up a tandem situation?
Aladeen
I absolutely agree. Gillis has to trade on goalie or he will have had a major failure. After being resigned, Schneider will have a hefty raise and the Canucks cannot afford to have so much money locked up in the goalie position. Also, it makes no sense to have a great goalie as a backup. Much better to trade for an asset that can be on the ice at the same time as a great goalie. Only one great goalie can be on the ice at any given time.
