Just wondering here, but what are your guys' thoughts on the Harry Z hit on Mike Lundin? Suspendable?

Shoulder to the head, and leaves his feet. Suspendable? Absolutely. If Hansen gets 1 game for brushing Hossa, this should be a suspension. Will it be? No idea.

After taking the league by storm during the first month and a half of the regular season, the Washington Capitals have not only slowed down but are struggling as of late.

Injuries to some key players such as Tobias Enstrom, Matt Carkner and Miikka Kiprusoff have obviously played a factor. However, young players that were playing so well early in the season have seemed to stop producing in the Nation's Capital.

Up front, Kyle Turris who scored four goals in his first four games has now gone 18 games straight without putting the puck in the back of the net.Zack Kassian who came out of the gate on fire with five goals in his first seven games has now gone 12 games without scoring a goal and has seen his minutes decrease. The young powerforward has even found himself a healthy scratch at times in the Capitals lineup. Marcus Foligno has been scratched this week as well after playing great hockey early on in the season. Richard Panik, Jacob Josefson, and Chris Kreider has all been assigned to the AHL with the hope that they can gain some confidence before returning to the lineup.

There is no doubt that the future is bright in Washington, but this young lineup seems to be slumping at every position. General Manager da.moose is committed to leaving roster spots available for his young players to earn, but at this time his team is not looking as ready to be a top team in the NHL as they once did.

Though the top six is still producing goals for Washington, The depth forwards have not been contributing offensively, especially at the center position.

The young defense is being exposed without big minute dman Tobias Enstrom and veteran Matt Carkner. Players like Mark Fayne and Kyle Quincey will need to step up their game if the Capitals hope to remain a top team throughout the season.

In hopes to turn things around, the Capitals will be playing the next game with the following lineup:

Washington Capitals Current Lineup:

Evander Kane - Pavel Datsyuk - Brad Boyes

Patrik Elias - Sam Gagner - Jakob Silfverberg

Dan Carcillo - Kyle Turris - Jordin Tootoo

Marcus Foligno - Boyd Gordon - Zack Kassian

Matt Halischuk

Kyle Quincey - Keith Yandle

Mark Fayne - Tim Erixon

Simon Despres - Ryan Ellis

Roman Hamrlik, Joe Finley

Devan Dubnyk

Miikka Kiprusoff

MSG Post Game:

Jake Muzzin really stepped up tonight, second in ice time to only Doughty on the Kings, with an assist on the Power Play for his efforts, my team could really use with Jake turning the corner and solidifying his NHL spot.

Suitably, Jake will move up our depth chart, sharing the third pairing with Ryan Whitney.

In the post game scrum the coach leaked that Matt Stajan will bump over Nik Antropov, in the center depth chart tomorrow for a fresh look to the middle six, while Jiri Hudler will start on the first line, while Ryan Malone eases back into play on the second, with Stajan and Lombardi.

Fresh Rangers Lineup:

Vanek Thornton Hudler

Lombardi Stajan Malone

Galiardi Antropov Moss

Powe Brent Staubitz

____ Steckel _____

Gonchar Klein

Stuart Souray

Muzzin Whitney

White

Smith

Mason
