It sounds like Panthers fan's are willing give up 2 prospects(be it not very good ones) and theodore for Lu. If we could somehow get Petrovic or Bjustad, I'd be happy. oldnews Posted July 3, 2012 Share Posted July 3, 2012 A little history - Luongo was traded to Vancouver (with Krajicek and pick/Shirokov) for Bertuzzi, Allen and Auld... Bertuzzi played one year in Florida (7 games, 1 goal, 6 assists) and was sent to Detroit for Shawn Matthias. Bertuzzi / Luongo Allen / Krajicek Auld / pick=Shirokov I want to see a Bjugstad/Petrovic deal, but if Matthias were the young center to come back this way as part of a deal, he'd essentially be the piece the Panthers wound up acquiring out of the Luongo deal. According to some people the Canucks have been getting fleeced by the Panthers, but Booth is still a valuable asset while Samuelsson is no longer a Panther (UFA to Detroit - nor is Sturm a Panther).... Ballard is still a valuable asset (despite what some people may think), while Howden is the lone piece remaining in Florida as a result of that deal (Grabner was waived, Bernier was not qualified as an RFA and was allowed to walk as a UFA....) theminister Posted July 3, 2012 Share Posted July 3, 2012 Hearing news/speculation about Luongo to FLA deal...could be done sometime this week..names being discuss: Bjugstad or kulikov, versteeg, theodore, a late pick for luongo, tanev, schroeder, 1st rd pick, jensen. FLA gm is insisting on adding jensen if canucks want bjugstad. Gillis trying to get a deal without jensen involved and also trying to get the 1st rd pick to a 3rd...will investigate more.
