CanucksWino
So many bonuses to signing Doan:adds "size-that-can-play" to the top-6will get to the front of the net in the playoffs - something the Canucks have struggled to do against bigger teamswill help Kesler get through the playoffs healthy by freeing up Kesler to not always having to be the net-front guy at even strength and the PP - gives AV another right-handed shot option of the PP if Kesler is taking too much of a beatingwill take the pressure of Kassian from having to make the team - Canucks can develop him properly. If Kassian is ready great, if he's not, then he can develop in Chicago.adds a vocal leadership that MIGHT be missing - can keep Kesler, Burrows and Lappy accountablelastly (and maybe most importantly), will allow guys like Kesler, Booth and Burrows to just play their game, and not have to try and be power-forwards when they're really not built for it. Hopefully it will allow those three to maximize performance, and allow them to get through the season/playoffs in one piece.
Merci
News1130 Sports @News1130Sports Gillman and Doan go back to the WINN Jets days and have a good relationship. Bross says absolutley Doan could end up with #Canucks.

Bang Bang Boogie
I would love this signing. Doan can show Kassian what it takes to be a top power forward in the NHL.

canucksnihilist
Q: he is 35. Would we want to give him a 3 year deal? If he retires he is still on the books. Q2: would he take a 1 year deal? Q3: is he worth the risk of a long term (3 year) deal anyways? From me: Yes, No, Yes...

-Vintage Canuck-
Since the lockout: Shane Doan - 437 points in 550 games. Zach Parise - 410 points in 502 games. Who wouldn't be interested? Too bad he's kinda old now.
Tystick
Yuup. I really hope we can get Doan. Overpay on hit. Don't sign him L/T. Brings all the mentioned things to the table. A real competitor, that plays on the edge (and will cross the line ocassionally) Put him on the Sedins wing, he'd put up 65+ I could envision this: Sedin Sedin Doan Higgins Kesler Kassian Booth Schroeder Burrows Raymond Lapierre Hansen
-Vintage Canuck-
@mirtle Shane Doan's wife is from Kamloops and they spend time there every off-season. Canucks make a lot of sense as potential destination.
