At the end of season meetings with the players there was an overwhelming opinion that they wanted to keep the core of the team together. Trading Versteeg goes against that. A deal with Florida may involve a roster player, but it won't be one of their core guys. They've also said they don't want to move any of their top prospects, but they have to give somewhere. Moving a prospect and perhaps a depth player would allow them to keep the core intact and try to build on their play last season, so it's more likely, it's just what level of prospect we could get in return.
