Ossi Vaananen
With a GAA above 3.5 every year he's played, combined with a dismal save pct I think it's safe to say he's not going to make the NHL or AHL any time soon.

canucklax
You do realize that the QMJHL is a VERY offensive league.
Squeak
He also lost the starting job last year, so if we're aiming for backup Q goalies, Honzik is the man
Canvoucer Vanuck
Honzik might turn out okay one day... problem is, it's looking like he was taken much, much too early.
canucklax
...again... basing your observations on 2 periods of playing, coming off a knee injury
Squeak
I'm talking about last year, not this season. He lost his starting job to Brandon Whitney, and got traded in the offseason Face it, he's a bust
canucklax
lol, you can keep having hope in him, but I can't say I've ever heard of a backup Q goalie that was a reach when he got picked making an impact at the next level

DeNiro
I think the only realistic scenario of him making the NHL might be if he goes and plays in the Czech league for a few years. And then come back in a backup role at some point. But if he's struggling this much in the Q, it's not looking good.
Jägermeister
Wasn't a back-up when picked. Yes - he lost his job, but was traded to Cape Breton to be the goalie there... and has had 2 periods of game time. Maybe we can call him a 'bust' when its January/February? Squeak
Meh, I would never consider a 3rd rounder to be a bust anyway. He was always a bit of a gamble, but in the 3rd round its pretty low-risk, high-reward. Right now it's looking like the gamble didn't pay off, but who knows with goalies. A lot of them don't find their stride until their early to mid 20's.

avelanch
I don't know if you know but Gaunce is injured and if I remember correctly its going to be a long time before he's playing again.

DeNiro
Oh really? What was the injury? For some reason I thought it was like a season ending injury
avelanch
it was a shoulder separation, 3-6 weeks from oct 19th. http://blogs.theprovince.com/2012/10/23/canucks-prospect-gaunce-sidelined-by-second-degree-shoulder-separation/ he should be back by november 30th if 6 weeks is accurate. He'll definitely be back before christmas unless he suffers a setback.
Heinous Technicalities
it's a little bit disheartening to see that our NCAA forwards only have a combined 1 point in 19 games. Hope they start to pick it up soon, as the 3 of them seem like they have some potential. On another note, our NCAA defense has 11 points in 27 games. Not too bad
