tmak01
Just wondering if there is no season will everyone in the NHL have a shot at the #1 pick. I believe thats how Pittsburgh got Crosby. That would be deadly if canucks get a shot at a # 1 pick because we have never picked #1.
Kassian
slim to none chance. I say the best we could get is maybe 10-15th.
G-52
I believe it is possible, but the chance is a lot lower than 1 in 30.

Drybone
It would be nice for a change if they just put all 30 balls into the machine and gave everyone equal chance.
Squeak
Why do we have less than 1 in 30 chance if noone plays than everyone should have an equal chance?
canuck_trevor16
low low chance.....I read somewhere that the NHL rig the lottery so the pens could get the number 1 pick.....
CanucksFanMike
yes, but it is a very very very small chance
Wheels22
I wonder if we have the worst luck with 1st round picks.. Only a small percentage of ours go on to do great things with our team...
avelanch
with the 2005 lottery rules in effect this is how it would go: Each team begins with three balls in the lottery barrel. For every playoff appearance in the last three years or No. 1 overall pick over the last four years, a team loses one ball. 3 ball teams CALGARY DALLAS TORONTO COLUMBUS WINNIPEG CAROLINA MINNESOTA 2 ball teams NY ISLANDERS ANAHEIM COLORADO ST. LOUIS TAMPA BAY FLORIDA 1 ball teams EDMONTON PITTSBURGH PHILADELPHIA BOSTON WASHINGTON NY RANGERS VANCOUVER SAN JOSE DETROIT NASHVILLE PHOENIX LOS ANGELES CHICAGO NEW JERSEY BUFFALO OTTAWA MONTRÉAL That means we'd have a 1 in 50 (2%) chance to get 1st overall... Master Mind
Imagine if every years draft was done this way. It actually wouldn't be too bad, since garbage teams wouldn't be rewarded with stanley cups.
