Forearm shiver, If you watch closely you see Hansen lead with his forearm. Warrants a suspension, imo.

Honey Badger is my favorite player on this team and in the NHL but what he did deserves a suspension. If it was up to me, he'd sit for 1-2 games.

He's getting a fine. If for no other reason than to make him a repeat offender in the future.

it looked intentional but I don't think he expected a swan dive.

i don't think was dirty at all, but seeing that Hossa is hurt and is a superstar will not be surprised to see a one game suspension here. Definitely not deserving though, but thats how the disciplinary seems to work in the NHL.

On the replay it's clear that Hansen was just swiping at the puck. I don't know which replay Toews was watching but it's probably from an alternate universe.

so Toews is demanding a suspension? Ummm, right, somehow I doubt he was saying the same thing when Keith tried to decapitate Daniel last year. Turd.

What Hansen did was not even remotely intentional. I doubt any Blackhawk has any comprehension of that.

Go troll elsewhere, turd breath ..

Oh, and Toews is the biggest baby-whining-puss in the NHL ..

lol! The sad part is that I'm sure there are Hawk fans out there that would actually argue this too.

Hossa is Mr. Burns on skates. No intent by Hansen, he's just not that coordinated. If there is any kind of discipline, the NHL really has problems.

Look into it haahahahah what a joke the NHL is. Clean play, no intent to injure at all. Should have never been a penalty. He was going for the puck. Hossa is a bitch! Blackcoxs fans are arrogant and moronic as the usual. Nothing changes.

Having watched the replay, Hansen either has really bad hand-eye co-ordination to catch that puck (he wasn't even close to an actual legitimate catching attempt with his hand), or he was leaning into the reach with the elbow after realizing he wasn't going to catch it and tried for the hit. Hate to say it, but its a bad hit, intentional or not. The other question is whether Hossa is really hurt as bad as he appeared to be. I suppose we'll find out soon enough whether her's out of the lineup next game, as a player with his history shouldn't be taking any risks.

Speaking of the intentional or not argument, its funny to watch and listen to the difference between the Sportsnet and Comcast play-by-play. The Sportsnet cast all feel its a clean play, while the Comcast analysts all use the "forearm shiver" term. Obviously its not nearly as cut-and-dry as the Keith hit on Sedin, but still, its a bad hit by Hansen.

Hansen's my favourite player on the team, but I'm not too cool with that hit. Sorry to say it, but yeah, minor suspension - not 5, I'd say 2 or 3 games. I guess that's going to be an unpopular opinion round here, but if I'm gonna get up in arms over bad hits against us, I feel like I need to call the ones we perpetuate as well.

I guess the Hawks conveniently have amnesia and forget the abuse they used to inflict on Lu in his crease? Ran right over him all the time? And yeah, Keith. Theirs was intentional and I don't think this was.

Pot/kettle stuff.

Hope Hossa's ok....never wish any player injury. Quite confident he will be, as the contact seemed pretty insignificant.

riight... 2-3 games for a completely unintentional hit by a player going for a puck?? Not exactly sure how that computes in your head, but seriously. No.

The media will defend the crapcago Blacksucks again and paint Hansen as a dirty player.. the usual thing when a Canuck does something to the Hawks or any team for that matter.

Double standards is what we get.

When Grabovski bit Patiocioretty's finger, the media defended him making all sorts of excuses, but when Burrows bit Bergerons finger when it was in his mouth, they made fun of him.

Pretty sure it comes down to player responsibility. In this case, Hansen's responsibility for the decision to make a blind-side play that resulted in a player injury. Intentional? Most likely not, but the consequences are evident. The League will most likely take Hansen's disciplinary and Hossa's medical records into account, so who really knows? 2-3 games for unintentional dumb play would be fine with most, I think. Anything over is probably going to cause The Province to have some good reading columns in the sports section.

I was saying Lu-Urns...

“That guys an idiot. It’s his own fault if he can’t tell the difference between an all star center and a plug defenceman”

"It's not the location. We just can't beat the Canucks. Thank god they're in the West."

NHL will do something about just because it's blown up now....

Shouldn't have even been a penalty.. Ref only called it based on crowd reaction and Toews' crying..

Oh well, we've seen that before, a ref turning a blind eye (listen on players' judgement), changing a call.

Pissed off at reading all this crap. Just a few of the comments too... (NHL.com) :

"He is threat to NHL players. Hansen is the Matt Cooke of the West!"

"..Tried to Knee Emery in the head after serving his TWO MINUTE penalty."
