Botchford this morning tweeted:

Hansen stays with the twins. But Kesler skating on the wing today with roy and burrows, leaving ebbett to centre Raymond and Kassian

Schroeder should centre Raymond and Kassian instead of Ebbett. Call him up.

I like the Roy-Kesler combination, but it makes no sense for Hansen to stay on the Sedin line. Put Kassian there (the one position where he flourished) and leave Hansen on the 3rd line where he plays his most effective hockey.

Why would you hope he's joking? Luongo is a great goaltender, even if he's currently playing second fiddle to Schnieds. Both goalies give us a great chance to win

Might as well. The Chicago Wolves are doing their own thing down there anyways.

Awesome! Can't wait to see how kes in the win works out. However, I would rather see kass on the first and reunite Hansen with Raymond and shroeder.

I am a little surprized that ebbett is apparently on the 3rd instead of Lapierre, Lapierre is considered hot right now with 4 points in his last 5 including 2 goals.

If ebbett does play 3rd i dont think he will last

Both goalies need to be ready. Luongo was the "starter" last year, the team came out slow for games 1 and 2 despite Luongo playing well, and AV put in Schneider to shake up the team.

This year Schneider is likely going to be "starter", if the team comes out slow and Schneider doesn't steal the win AV could do the exact same thing.

If it makes anyone feel any better about Arneil, he had Jensen on the 4th line and Darren 'power play specialist' Haydar on the power play for the whole 2 minutes.

I think it's just due to the timing. Back to back games mon/tues and Lu might not get another start the rest of the way. Gives Schneids an extra day of rest (not likely a 100% yet from that flu) while still likely starting the last 6 and keeps Lu sharp-ish in case he's needed. I wouldn't expect Lu to start more than one more at most, if any, the rest of the way after monday's game.

I agree. I get the reservations as to why others don't want the raymond-schroeder-hansen lineup in the playoffs (specifically, it's soft attributes), but the canucks should to play to their strengths first and foremost - and that's winning games with skill. We can't beat hard hitting teams by playing their game, we'll win by playing our own. Besides, they're going to get limited minutes anyways (in comparison to the stacked first two lines.). Anyways, if it's 'really' a problem we could always put kassian on that line instead of (hansen), or whomever - especially since he's not getting ice time with the twins.

Overall though I'm excited to see how that Burrows-Roy-Kesler line turns up.

with Kesler on the wing the first thing I would try would be:

Sedins - Burrows
Raymond - Roy - Kesler
Hansen - Ebbett - Kassian
Weise - Lap - Ses

Once Higgins is back I'd call up Schroeder and put him in Ebbett's spot, and Higgins in Kassians spot.

Darren Haydaris over a point a game in the AHL. Don't see the issue with leaving Haydar on the power play for the full two minutes.

I've wanted to see Burrows - Roy - Kesler together since Roy was acquired. I believe that will be the best second line possible. But the issue will be whether having those three guys play together will detract from the first and third lines. Can Hansen produce with the Sedins? Is Ebbett good enough for a regular top-9 spot? Let's hope so.

I reckon this is a direct result of Ebbett, at long last, showing glimpses of usefulness. His superior skill and speed makes him a better candidate than Lapierre to play with Raymond and Kassian.

No, he didn't do this last year and in the playoffs was forced to try new lines that had never been tested before. I like the idea of trying new lines now and getting ready for the playoffs. But... After some line juggling now (playoff testing) he need to go to the lines he plans to start with and keep them together for 6+ games before the playoffs.

He did alot of line juggling before the playoffs with the first and second lines and defense; The Burr-Hank-Lappy line was doing so good but then he switched Raymond and Lappy during the playoffs

I like the idea of Higgins on the second line to allow Burrows to play with the Sedins. Higgins and Burrows are more or less interchangeable as the glue guys on that second line (though Burrows does of course have more skill). But keep the righties on the right wing, guys:

Sedin Sedin Burrows
Higgins Roy Kesler
Raymond Schroeder Hansen
Weise Lapierre Kassian
(Yes, I just put a righty on the left wing of the 4th line)

Ebbett may be a better option than Schroeder at this point, but that third line certainly does have a higher ceiling with JS.

It could be quite the spectacle when Booth returns for the second round.

This would be my preffered line combinations. Higgins and Roy have already shown a level of chemistry and Raymond and Hansen looked good in the first half of the year.

My only concern is that AV will try to shelter Schroeder, which could throw off the consistency of being able to roll four lines. Moving Roy back to the third would be a good insurance policy, if the line matching gets out of hand.
