NEW RE-SIGNING PHASE GUIDELINES
 

 

 

 

Please note the follow changes on top of these initial guidelines, as people the last three seasons have been unable to follow the rules properly thus resulting in the re-sign phase taking longer and making the agents times more difficult.

Creating the PM:
 

• Please make sure all PMs sent to the agents follow this format, "RGMG UFA/RFA re-signings - (TEAM NAME)"
   
• No longer following this format will result in the agent not reading your PM, and/or deleting it outright. Please make sure it follows this format otherwise you will be ignored.

Sending Offers:
 

• Please DO NOT send multiple offers at different times of the re-sign period. Try to send all your offers in the FIRST MESSAGE. Doing so makes it easier for agents to take note that they are finished with said team, and will speed up the process of posting the re-signings and closing in on Free Agency. If you are worried about cap-issues depending on the players you wish to re-sign, list the priority in which players you wish to have re-signed prior to posting all your offers. 
   
• Posting single offers at a time can result in the agent missing the offer and thus your player going to Free Agency. We are not responsible for this, so try to keep it to a minimum of three posts total in the PM that include offers for players.

 

• When consulting with the RFA agent, any player that has NOT played more than ONE FULL SEASON in the NHL will only be eligible for a 2-year bridge contract or less. 
   
• Also note that changing your initial offer on an RFA contract (Switching from 2 years to 5 years) will result in you having to wait and subject your RFAs to possible offersheets.

Re-signing Phase Timeline
 

• When consulting with the UFA agent(s), players that have no real pedigree or high-end status in the NHL will not be willing to accept contracts of more than 3 years. Please take that into account when sending offers for depth/4th liners/bottom pairing defenceman.
   
• The re-signing phase will take roughly 3 DAYS, while the draft is taking place. Please send in all your offers as soon as the re-sign phase opens up. If you fail to send in offers until the very last second or past the given time, your players will potentially walk to Free Agency, and will demand more money given the situation. The earlier you send in your offers, the more likely you'll get the deal you are looking for if the offer is reasonable.
   
• RFA offers that are sent in last second will be subject to offersheets. They will not demand more money, but you will have to wait an amount of time (to be determined) before being able to sign the player.
