Ok, since you want to compare it to the Duchene trade, lets do that. For Matt Duchene, the Avs received: -Samuel Girard: Highly Rated D prospect only behind Fabbro in their system and saw NHL action this year -Vladislav Kamenev: Consensus Top 5 prospect in their system at the time -Shane Bowers: Ottawa's 2017 1st round pick - Andrew Hammond: Pretty much a throw in - Conditional 1st round pick (Top 10 protected in 2018 so it becomes a 2019 1st round pick with no protections) - 2nd round pick - 2019 3rd round pick BUT, you think the Senators are going to deal the best Dmen in the game for: Olli Juolevi: Highly touted 5th Overall pick, but not NHL ready. Guillaume Brisebois: A 2015 3rd round pick who is not even a top 5 prospect in the system. I won't call him a throw in but his value is not much. Ottawa will want 2018-1st rounder, Juolevi, Gaudette, 2019 2nd rounder.. I would never make that trade for Karlsson turning 28.. These kind of trades would wreck the rebuild and set Vancouver back 3 years and by that time Karlsson will be over 30 yrs old... Keep on rebuild and don't make these stupid trades for guys over 27 and we have to trade very good young players away.. This team will be exciting and talented and we will be in playoffs in 2 years if we keep on rebuild track... Core guys...
