  1. Oh, right. Lots of interesting stuff came out of that part of the world
  2. I voted to trade him. This may be an unpopular opinion but I think he is overvalued within the Canucks organization. So we’ll most likely not get exactly what we want for him. The sooner we get rid of him, the better
  3. Basketball is fun, but I don’t follow it, to be honest. The one basketball documentary people keep recommending is the really long Michael Jordan one. Have you seen it?
  4. Nice! There’s around three or four seasons, so there’s a lot of documentaries. There’s also a few hockey-related ones, but I haven’t watched all of them. I liked Kings Ransom and Into the Wind. My favourite non-30 for 30 so far is The Russian Five, though. I think it’s on Plex
  5. Do you have ESPN+? The 30 for 30 series is pretty good
  6. I had a laugh when Dermott said his favourite Canuck was Travis Green He seems happy to make the move but kind of struggled to show he had any real previous interest in the Canucks. I don’t mind that he had no previous interest in this team but it comes off a bit cringey Hope he does well with the Nucks!
  7. I haven’t seen him play but I’ve read he is a fast skater. With the amount of turnovers the Canucks gave up this season and the team having skaters that aren’t that fast, I’d imagine this can only be a good thing. I guess they think his weaknesses can be improved upon with enough training. My only concern is his lack of physical presence, which is a hard thing to overcome
  8. I’ve been listening to this one these days:
  9. I pretty much loved all the times I’ve seen Wilco live but this really exemplifies why I dig Tweedy Once they brought on Nels, their live shows rocked so hard, though
  10. He is pretty annoying in his podcast, as well. I still listen because every so often Farhan will put him in his place and say something reasonable. Plus I like to hear all sides of what people think of the Canucks. Ricc on the Sportsnet show/podcast is more palatable but it’s because the format is more of a casual conversation with Sat and callers/emails/texts
  11. And here is a new and really young band I really like. They’re actually currently touring in the West and have a show coming up in Seattle soon. They’re Canadian but posting here because this thread seems to be more popular
  12. I’m sensing a particular vibe in this thread. I’m a younger guy (born in the 80s!) but you guys might know and like this one from 1968
  13. So this makes it two newsworthy things to come out of Florida today. Ugh
  14. Seattle specifically as opposed to anywhere else in Washington? Well, I still enjoy city life. I like seeing live music, going to breweries, sports events, and being close to somewhere with a nightlife is important so I can meet people. Seattle as opposed to Los Angeles? I want to be close to Vancouver/friends/family. I have very briefly looked at West Seattle in the past but I couldn’t find a lot of information on it, except that it is very suburban and quite a ways from stuff to do, mind you I expect to do some driving anyway because I do like going on hikes.
  15. Hey, random question. I’m considering moving to Seattle. I didn’t know that there was no rent control there. How much is rent increased every year? Do they only increase rent if you don’t sign another yearly lease? I work from home, so I’m considering moving to the Laurelhurst area. Is that a nice area as a whole? I originally planned on moving to the southwest side of Ballard, but I hear some areas there aren’t that nice, so that makes choosing a place difficult. I’ve been to Seattle, I’ve just never been to those two neighbourhoods. i do plan on visiting those areas before making the move but any insight I can get beforehand would be helpful. If it matters, I’m hoping to get a 1-bedroom for around $1800 and I currently live in Los Angeles. So, it’s either those two areas or hopefully Torrance down here in LA. One thing I hear people complain a lot about Seattle is the job market, so I’m a little concerned about that. Is it really that bad? Nothing definitive yet so I’m willing to stay put if that makes more sense.
  16. Sorry, I’m late to this, but Colter is awesome. I prefer the stuff he was writing around the time of that video. I saw him play a few years ago at The Commodore and it was such a great show. Transcendent Ramblin’ Railroad Blues is really good:
