  1. I like free prospects ina position in a position of Need looks like he’d be a good signing
  2. His ability to get shots on net is nuts
  3. Love these looks ur getting thanks for sharing that
  4. You can tell injuries have affected him here. Like when he goes to shoot it’s a bit awkward. Where it use to be his greatest attribute and his release. hoping he can work through it this season and show well before getting hurt again or having to have another offseason of this is the year!
  5. I actually think since coming back he’s been better than I expected considering the lack of skating and stick work he’s been able to do. I think his game legs and his puck handling and shot are off from the injury and lack of skating. but he’s actually performed better than expected. And I’ve been watching him like a hawk. the pearson miller line with him he was the best part of that trash line. But maybe they were just so horrendous it made him look alright lol And he produces regardless of time m in ice he finds a way to get points quietly even when hurt here which is kinda impressive. It’s not like goldobin or other guys like him just got points because of minutes given. he needs to be much better, he needs to start scoring and he we need to rebuild his trade value and move off of him. I kinda half agree with you but not fully.
  6. I think we can. And I think we should. We have him next season and RFA after. Management says they have a 2-3 year plan. Of course things are changing but if they communicate to him this is your team going forward with a clear vision, direction and commitment to building a team around him that embodies the values of a winning culture. I do think selling on Horvat at an all time high this season and rebuilding Millers value (playing him on the wing with Bo) and trading him at the TDL combined with trimming the veteran fat and being rewarded for our misery with this draft and land a quality piece like: Bedard, Fantili, Mitchkov, Carlsson, Yager That would be huge. A core of one of the above with Hughes petey and demko would be grade A and up there with the best in the league. And we really do need one more grade A chip in our core to build around I think. But we would have to really maximize our returns with JT and Bo and be astute in asset management going forward. And we have to stop building the wings and neglecting the back end it’s insane.
  7. He’s gonna figure it out. Most goalies with our team in. Front of them would have heinous numbers. I don’t think Martin will stay undefeated or have sustained success if he plays more games here while demko struggles. martins wins are our best team game of the year so far, and two wins against two of the worst teams in the league and we had to score an insane amount of goals to win those games. demko has a lot going for him. I think he’s going to tighten up, it’s mental now. And it’s good he’s going through it he will come out better after. It was Petey last season it’s demko now. Even maelstrom and luongo had some parts of their careers that were rough. I remember lu had a stretch where he’d let in one head scratcher randomly almost every game then Just slam the door shut. Goalie is tough. And it’s been harder in our toxic environment of a team and def structure. believe in him. Kid is one of our hardest workers. On the rink in the gym on tape with Clarke working positioning and movements. Etc hes and elite tender going through a. Rough patch.
  8. Ya I’m with ya on Miller 100%. He’s gotta go. He can’t be playing C. It’s terrifying seeing him in the centre of the ice, puck on stick, feet not moving, looking where to put the puck. Gotta load him up with Bo let him rip and attract a TDL trade for him. We are on the same page here. I think only if he wanted a bigger opportunity at any point to play in a larger role and they were really pressed for cap. and I guess korczak would really have to have a great year for them to be comfortable moving him next offseason. right probably unlikely.
  9. What are fpts and the 3yr line there? have trouble with that stat sheet you sent Large clip of his goals are scored on the Pp no? I don’t have the numbers clearly layed out to reference them but I’m pretty sure the past few years he’s not been our best evens producer has he? it’s not an attack on Bo either I think he’s a great player who does a lot of things exceptionally and has certain things he’s not as elite at. I do think he could want out though at this point. whether it be in how he was evaluated financially in the summer in comparison to JT and other Centres league wide and the fact he wants to win and play playoff hockey and we could be doing a retool during his prime.
  10. They for some reason are against us this season lol
  11. Hard to imagine we couldn’t have traded him. His cap hit was great this season. but I guess the risk is if he started slow like he did it got hurt might not have been able to move him and risk losing him for nothing. im gonna keep doubling down on my opinion we are probably going to have to trade both miller and Horvat this season
  12. Oh I know my reply is all over the place tbh. im going crazy. but ya was supposed to be funny cause aren’t we all sick of losing second round draft picks? There’s just no way NYI trade Dobson for pretty much anyone rn let alone a C like Horvat when they have good C depth already
  13. ITs been the whole season. I think the flu and injury to start the year has really messed him up and he's not 100%. Feel like thats the excuse or underlying story to our entire team: Hughes: Flu and broken Nose to start year Mikehyev: Hurt Knee to start year Dermott: Concussed Myers: Cant remember injury but he came back early Boeser: Hand Laceration OEL: Fractured foot in offseason Poolman: concussion Demko: Offseason Surgery Bear: Covid recovery and hasn't played much in a long time. Lazar: Out I mean injuries do effect people, they are human. Its hard to be at your best when you had a shortened or interrupted offseason training or training camp vs a team or players that didn't. Playing through injuries and pain is aa part of being professional athlete though and its haired not to think this amount of injuries could really be a difference maker in our teams composition and the fine margins of playing well for an entire 60 minutes. Mikehyev has clearly been improving though game by game in my opinion and his speed more noticeable. So there clearly was a difference in play due to his injury. I cant really remember how many successful seasons have started out the gate with that many injuries to a team. Maybe our guys are just soft. But even Bieksa commented on how his worst years as a Canuck were when he was playing though injuries and felt like the fans were super hard on him (I am paraphrasing) but ya its ought to perform when hurt. I have dealt with some chronic injuries and its rough to be at your best when your body just ion cooperating or you are just unlucky. I know we have more wrong with the team and it seems like a culture, compete and commitment to team system are big red flags. But its frustrating when we can see flashes from the team of hoe great they Can be and how individually skilled os many of our players are.
  14. Ya this season has been his best for spreading the goals out. But historically most of his goals come on the PP. And not to take away from the shine but the short handed goals, 1 was with Petey and Petey made a great play to set it up with him. and the other end of game empty net. Also regular season pts most of them have been against worse teams I believe (not 100% sure). I know the last two came against Ottawa and I thought that was his best 5 on 5 game maybe I have ever seen. I was just saying the could have a funny stat line like this projected numbers right now are 70 goals and 23 assists.
  15. Why we play him with Horvaat 5 v 5, no more PK at all. Keep his legs fresh for 5v5 and PP and Bruce has to cracak down on his extra long shifts and keep him on the wing. Let Bo and Miller pop off career numbers if possible and move them both.
  16. Pretty sure everyone on the forum board would do that in a heartbeat. But would be better if it was a 3rd or later. Very tired of losing 2nds like they have no value to the Canucks future. Pulock isn't leaving he is in control and loves it there. And Dobson isn't getting moved I dont think. Would have to be like Horvat Myers and a 2nd Round Pick and a prospect like mcdonaugh or better for Dobson, Beuvillier, Pageau Lou kinda likes Myers from reports, and maybe he romanticizes Horvat as the one that got away. Pageau is already expendable in there system so with Horvat going in even more so. He also has a $5M cap hit. Beauvillier would be to help balance the trade with losing Dobson and needed to help the $ work with signing Horvat and taking on Myers salary. Our second round pick would be like a late first so aa high value pick. We cannot give up our 1st round pick for anything. I dont know this jus came to me might not work at all. But it would have to be big trade to make the dollars work for both sides and to even out the value. Horvat and Dobson arent far off in values but Dobson def must be more valuable But if you NYI why do you want Horvat? You have Barzal, Nelson, Pageau, Czikas with Iskhakov and Raty coming up in the AHL. Dobson is their number 1 PP Qb over Pulock. They could be losing Mayfield and if they trade away Dobson Pulock slots QB1 on PP1 and they need someone new on unit two. in our/ my version of the scenario that would be Myers.. Yikes. I just dont see why NYI would ever consider trading Dobson at all let alone for a goal Scoring C when you are already deep at the position. Canucks are driving me crazy I need to unplug my head hurts LOL
  17. If we traded Bo for a winger I would lose my mind even if it was Drake Batherson + we absolutely cannot trade one of our only true C for a winger. I would lose complete faith in management and be a CANUCK KAREN and write letter tooall the mangers to sn650, Canucks, aquaman etc.. EVERYONE getting a letter. I agree and would keep BO over Miller if given a choice. BUT Hes at a crossroads in his career. And he not only would want to be paid what JT miller gets at minimum but in team pyramid it's pretty clear he deserves it more as of this sample size of this season right now. Bo is a weird C though. FACE OFF ACE, historically pedestrian at 5v5 (I think he feasts on lighter matchups or lower quality teams 5v5), PP Goal Scorer, no PK Ace, and not a strong playmaker, and in Jr and in limited sample with us elevates / shows an extra gear during the playoffs He could very well end the year 40-50 Goals with around 20ish assists. Would be the strangest stat line. He could also really just want to win. And if we start retooling or rebuilding here or just a plan he cant buy into to show him hey we are gonna be a cup contender with you here in 1-3 years and this is how it could be hard for him to keep drinking that koolaid. If I was him I would be ready for a change. But cap wise. It should be a nonstarter 8 Million should be fine to Bo if we can pay Brock almost 7. Makes no sense if thats an issue. But we absolutely cannot have both Bo and Miller its just no the right mix stylistically or financially if they truly believe Miller is a C. If we keep one of them we need a more defensive 3C that is pref RHC, that kill penalties wins face-offs and.can also score 20 goals. And I think we should continue to play them together to drive up there values and to trade both Miller and Horvat. Have a change in leadership core and a little reset to the team.
  18. Sounds like what Higgins was trying to show him in dev camp. To use his body and initiate contact at times to give himself a little more space or time with the puck to make aa play or open up a better option. Maybe its not natural to him and he's having a really hard time with it. Hes still very young to be in the AHL and. big project. Tools are there so he's just gotta grind and not just have good support / coaching but he needs to be open to learning and applying their lessons. Hope he figures it out
  19. If we trade Bo has to be a RHD or a C that’s younger but shows promise to be as effective as a player as Bo in their respected positions plus a pick. We can’t give a C entering their prime and not get a younger premium asset back (C/D)
  20. Ya he has played better lately though outside of that horrendous Dach giveaway they have to just put him back on the wing and really set him up to succeed so we can move him. Maybe aa GM will see him and think their teams culture and system will cover his deficiencies and he will be a beast for them on the PP and off the wing with the ability to cover C in a pinch / injury. Myers I could see last to the TDL potentially, but I think they will try to move him in the summer. Pearson I don't think makes it to our next training camp. From when he returns form injury to then I think they will be actively trying to move him. OEL I think we are mostly stuck with him for now and am really hoping things improve for him and this isn't his new normal. Ya I think they are tied together. If the JR Aquaman relationship strains I think PA will be gone regardless. Question: What do you think of targeting Zach Whitecloud from VGK? https://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=165828 Great age, great size, has shown well in his career up to this point. Haas been a little sheltered but has shown well when he's been elevated. Good defensively with some puck moving ability. I like his heart and character too. Good cost controlled contract 2.75M But he's a little buried in their system and wont be jumping Pietrangelo or Theodore unless there is an injury and they could replace him with guys up and coming and always have salary issues on the bottom pair. I like the idea of him playing with OEL or Hughes and as RHD PKER. If we could pick a guy like him up and add a top RHD prospect thats close to NHL ready would be huge for our group.
  21. Gave yea nice cold pint for the effort and layout of your proposal. This is an immense overhaul though. And I just don see us trading petey or Hughes. Trading Kuzmenko would have to be with his permission imo or else we will never sign a Russian free agent like him again too. Your final line up is very scary. Our Defence is atrocious. There is a chance Nemec and Lambos both dont amount to much too. I know Nemec is a young blue chip but he's not a sure thing. Lambos I like too and looking like a strong young leader. As much as I like Demko if we aren't going to be able to maximize his contract thats a trade I would really consider. But our goalie situation would be scary now and in the future. We would vault Martins development and probably ruin him. And Gustaavvson is not a number 1. We would be banking on signing a FA goalie when ready to compete or praying Silovs development goes amazing. And that would be scary for me If we did go wild on the proposals and that was our line up: Lafreniere..............Jenner..............Boeser OEL...................Bear Martin Podkolzin.................Eller.................Garland Stillman.............Schenn Gustovsson Mikheyev..................Lazar...............Joshua Rathbone..........Burroughs Pearson...................Aman...............Studnika Dermott.............Poolman Dries I would probably swap some of the lines around: Mikehyev-Jenner-Boeser Lafreniere-Eller-Garland Pearson-Studnika-Podkolzin Joshua-Aman-Lazar But its kind of like a 2nd Line, 3rd Line and 2 4th Lines regardless. And I believe Pearson is as good as gone once he is healthy. I am most nervous for what we do with Miller and Horvat. What JR and Alvin do with them will really show the direction of the team
  22. Marino clearly would have been the great add. They messed up. Even worse considering the Pits connection unless it made the move more difficult. But Dickinson, Rathbone and a 2nd for Marino would have been a sick move if possible to swing or something. Oh well they messed up. This is done dead. I get the frustration like I cant get over we never even make an offer to UFA Adam Larsson but oh well. Now who's the next top 4 dman on a fair contract we can acquire/target? Or even better a young RHD like Scott Morrow we can add I am going to say I would love to aadd: Zach Whitecloud Scott Morrow Feel like one would help us immediately in our top 4 and penalty kill on a fantastic cap hit. Solid kid, capable of a larger role I believe. Vegas can sometimes be easy to pull trades with. and the other would be an upcoming future stud. I would feel a lot better about our RHD future with Bear, Whitecloud, Morrow and getting rid of Myers and keeping Schenn for depth. Morrow's price tag probably immense though. And even then we still would need a LHD on bottom pairing that can PK. I dont see Rathbone fitting in, but he's just had a rough start who knows maybe he's settles down learns a lot and really surprises us.
  23. Yea I get Pearson has two cups, is a vet and maybe had his best year overall as a Canuck last year. But it sounds like he was fully healthy going in and out of camp. And he's been playing a brand of hockey exactly opposite of what he is supposed to be bringing. I feel like his effort has been there but the results have just been horrible. I am sure he knows JR is got a across hair on his head but still he's hurt us so much more than he's helped us this year. Sucks. When I saw the tweet thought it said he was place... and I was a expecting waivers forgot he was hurt lol
  24. Feels that way. Need to strip it down to a certain point and really build a winning culture
