  1. I don't think he cares about money at all. He said he wants to win and would sign that contract again if he could go back.
  2. They would have another 20m in cap space the next year.. and Mackinnon for another 3 years at 6.3m and the you're getting into the range of the cap going up.. They really wouldn't have much cap problems..especially if Mackinnon signed cheap again.
  3. I know right like how would you beat them, lol.
  4. I have considered the negatives and losing Roussel, Beagle, Sutter, Tanev and bringing in a bonafide number 1 dman is well worth that trade off. The fact Beagle can win faceoffs and still play a very competitive gritty game gives him value. A playoff team with cap space that struggles in the faceoff circle would definitely look at adding him. Sutter is generally good in the face/off circle too although lately he is been a tad under 50%. There are teams out there that want these guys. If you can't trade Sutter then trade Beagle. Trade Roussel. Defense is way more important to this team than those guys. We need better defense and we can hope we can fill those positions with youngers guy stepping up like Gaudette.
  5. If Girard was going back to Arizona they would easily have enough cap space to sigh Pietrangelo as well and their RFA's and then still have a ton of cap space the next year, lol.
  6. Heiskanen, Makar and Theodore is signed to a ridiculous Mackinnon like contract. If I was JB I would be saying Theodore only makes 5.2m. I don't see him getting 10m. I think him and Pettersson come in around 7m.
  7. The first team that comes to my mind are The Avs. They have a ton of cap space the next 2 years and for what he is the 8.5 cap hit is a very good contract fits with their cheap contracts. The Avs would be scary with Makar and OEL. They would still have a ton of cap space afterwards as well.
  8. It's really going to depend on who is initiating this trade request ownership or OEL. If its ownership the value of the return is not going to be the same as it will be if its OEL.
  9. Well, if it's OEL who wants to move then there is no way he is going to a bottom feeder. He is going to a playoff team and there aren't many that can take him on.
  10. Laine is due for a big contract and is already getting paid near OEL dollars. I don't see why ownership would want to cut $$$ and then take on a similar contract in a far less established player. I would imagine they are after draft picks and prospects that have a very low salary.
  11. After Eriksson bonus is paid depending on how hard Arizona sells they might be willing to take Eriksson, if he accepted a trade there - which honestly I doubt. He is only owned about 4m of 12m in cap hit over 2 years. That would look nice to an extremely cheap ownership group.
  12. OEL has a full NMC. He is not going to list Ottawa, NJ or LA as places he wants to go. I highly doubt it anyways. I wouldn't imagine he would go from one dumpster fire to another. Let's wait to see how many times he puts on his trade list.
  13. Owners were just talking to him to tell him they were rebuilding, right? smh. (I am not directing this at you OP) It was pretty clear they were talking to him to tell him to waive that NMC. Owners do not just go and meet with a player to tell them they are rebuilding, lol. The logic some people have.
  14. I agree that Nylander isn't fetching much in terms of Dman. I expect another Kadri like trade for a Barrie like Dman.
  15. You don't really know who JB was referring to but it was geared more towards trading vets for draft picks not trading away young players. There ie beagle too who has shown he still has value to a contender. There are plenty of guys that can be offloaded to make the space to take OEL. You're not going to have Tanev and OEL. Same thing if you signed Pietrangelo it means no Tanev. Or you are trading Myers which I don't see happening. I think you can lose Myers in the expansion draft..but via trade with his contract, and NTC, it will be tough.
  16. Nylander and the first they just got from The Pens is what I posted before as what I think could land him not Nylander alone. If he is being shopped.
  17. Cause Sutter has no value right? Roussel has no value too? JB has already stated they have players that other teams want they just didn't want to trade them. He is not concerned with the cap. JB has shown he is far too honest so you believe that is accurate. A guy who has a full NMC and has shown he wants to stay in one place is suddenly going to waive this NMC and allow himself to be traded the highest paying bidder... That is fantasy land. This guy is going to pick one of two locations, if he is persuaded to waive his NMC, and if you look at our roster with the amount of Swedes on it and the direction this team is going it's not a giant leap of logic to think Vancouver would be a place he wants to go. Kesler didn't agree to go to one place. Kesler demanded a trade to Anaheim. He wanted nothing to do with Vancouver's "rebuild" and demanded to be set to Anaheim and nowhere else. We were lucky to get what we did.
  18. As for Wayne Gretzky you're right its not the same because there was no salary cap or contract limitations and Edmonton still traded the best player to ever play the game for 20m dollars because they wanted to cut salary. Ekman-Larsson is much more likely to be traded than Gretzky was. This has nothing to do with having few picks.. Elliotte Friedman was the one who said ownership is meeting with Ekman-Larson, this was before the draft pick penalties. Why would ownership do this? The only reason they do this is to try and get him to waive that NMC. How badly do they want his salary gone? If he says I want to go to Vancouver and that's it then Vancouver can dictate the trade and its not going to be a hockey trade. It will be a fleecing.
  19. Gretzky was traded for 20m dollars so please tell me again how ownership being poor and wanting to cut salary won't end up with OEL being potentially given away when he has a FULL NMC. He has ownership by the balls and can go wherever he likes. Ownership wants him out that is the only reason why owners would approach a player and talk to him about the "future" of the team. It is clear they want to try and pressure him into waiving that NMC.
  20. Watch New Jersey who apparently is linked to chyraka, whatever his name is, get punished for tampering and forfeit picks to Arizona.
  21. I watched Theodore for Anaheim and he looked great for as young as he was. Anaheim traded Vatanen shortly after as well so it made this Theodore trade look even worse. But good on Bieksa for &^@#ing them, lol.
  22. Did I make a trade proposal? How can I be massively over-valuing picks when I never made a proposal? Not only that but Ekman Larsson has a NMC. He is going nowhere unless he wants to. He can pull a Kesler and get nowhere near what his value is. If ownership wants his gone it is clearly not salary they want coming back so that leaves prospects and draft picks. I think ownership is dumb to trade him cause of that NMC but if they want to, like I said, I am happy to give them some draft picks. We don't know if Sutter couldn't be moved. What we do now is he was constantly injured and underperforming and JB didn't want to just throw him away for nothing. These playoffs have shown that Sutter still has gas in the tank and can still play and is a good veteran leader. I don't think there will be any issues finding a suitor for sutter in the offseason. This isn't about Arizona finding cap space. It's the ownership, that was reported, that is going to sit down with Larsson and decide on the future... that does not sound good. It sounds like they want to sell the farm and restart. Who really knows what is going on in the heads of Arizona's owner(s). Arizona is a dumpster fire so I will not not be surprised to see them trade Ekman Larsson for scraps.
  23. 6M Markstrom 8.5M to Ekman Larsson that is 14.5. Trade Sutter back down to 10.3 roughly 6M in cap space...Ferland is probably never playing again so that is another 3.5m that will be LTIR. If you want to also re-sign Toffoli then you gotta be looking to dump Eriksson, maybe you can get away with dumping Roussel. With Markstrom re-signed you might be able to package Eriksson with Demko. There absolutely is cap space to take on Larsson. You will lose a couple players but who cares. You're getting a number 1 dman basically in his prime for potentially scraps.
