  1. So Brackett gets all the credit for any good pick the canucks made while he was employed by them?
  2. Does anyone remember when people argued with me about Theodore being a Norris level Dman? I do. That kid is unreal and doesn't have any flaws in his game.
  3. Honestly, your proposals make no sense. Every single one of your proposals is just so ridiculous. Why the &^@# would the Avs trade us Bowen Byram? The Avs issue is D and they are going to trade us one of the best young D prospects for prospects in return that don't help them right now... I literally stopped reading your post halfway through...everything you said was just dumb.
  4. All of you who said it's only one game look like a bunch of &^@#ing idiots. This is now Demko's team.
  5. Once he gets figured out? lol. What? Binnington didn't get figured out he just got exposed for being the garbage goalie he is. St. Louis had an absolutely stacked D and the Canucks do not. People said oh it's just 1 game even thought it wasn't. It was an elimination game where he played lights out. People also said he didn't make any big saves when he actually did but he was just positionally so good he them look easy. Then he backed it up with a second even better game and still you hear the same crap oh he can't play full season look how he struggled... when he got the reins.. I think Markstrom was just playing so well and he wanted to do too much to try and match him and he was just off..his game. Demko played his game and showed he is incredible. That was Price level goaltending if not better. Demko could literally not have played better. He literally played the position perfectly. Game 3 he made huge save after huge save.. That game could have been 8-0. Demko just flat out robbed The Knights 7 or 8 times. We should have won that game but the guys couldn't score on the PP. Markstrom is not Ryan Miller. Ryan Miller was an established starter in the NHL. Markstrom has had really 1 season where It is like okay this guy is a starter. He got injured and only played 43 games so this oh we don't know if Demko is a starter. We don't know if Markstrom can stay healthy. We don't know if Markstrom will revert back to being average. Based on his playoff performances this year he was all over the map. It wasn't like Markstrom was playing this unbelievable hockey then got injured. He got lucky so many times against St. Louis... In game 6 he literally missed an easy wrist shot from the blue-line with his glove... That goes in instead of hitting the post and we might not even play Vegas. Demko just had the greatest rookie goaltending display in the history of the NHL. That was not a fluke. 3 games in 4 nights where he let in 2 goals on what 135 shots? Absolutely incredible. A career backup would never be able to do that. This kid just said made a statement to The Canucks and The NHL that says I am a number 1 and I am the next best goalie in this league. People want to trade him as a cap dump with Eriksson or trade prospects and picks so we can keep him and Markstrom ... No. Markstrom can walk. Sign a veteran goalie there a lot and they will be cheap and go out and spend that money on a Dman cause this team needs to move the puck much more efficiently out of their zone.
  6. Anyone who says Demko didn't just steal the starting position from Markstrom is an idiot. No way you pay 6M+ for a goalie when you have Demko.
  7. You could see the third period that Vegas was starting to get frustrated and get away from their game plan and giving up a ton of odd man rushes. I hope that Vegas shows up and we capitalize on the chances they give us early and often.
  8. If Markstrom is healthy you have to start him. You can't expect Demko to play back to back when he is getting peppered in every game.. You are better off going with the fresh goalie.
  9. I wouldn't be worried at that at all. Matt Murray has 2 stanley cups near same age as Demko when he did it and signed a 3.75m deal.. Don't see Demko making north of 4m especially with COVID unless he got offersheeted.
  10. Can't rely on Demko to be great again. Vancouver has to score to win this game. I think Vegas is going to score 4+
  11. I doubt it Domi is currently playing on the 3rd line. He needs top 6 minutes to be effective and the trade would more likely be Virtanen, Gaudette + for Domi.
  12. This is a game Canucks really need to dominate cause Demko playing back to back if he steals another game will be rough.
  13. Watching Tuch in this series just makes me so frustrated with Virtanen. If he used his speed he would be so effective.. but he just doesn't.. I don't even think he has value in a trade honestly.. I would be surprised if he fetched anything more than a 3rd rounder.
  14. This isn't one game. Stop saying one game like he played one regular season game and played well. This is an elimination game with the season on the line and he didn't get phased at all and had an incredibly game. There are plenty of veteran goalies that can be signed or traded for that will be a lot cheaper than Markstrom. How good Markstrom was this postseason? In all he has been average or slightly above. Even in games he played well in at the start of them he was very shaky, missing very easy saves.. There were games he was flat out bad in multiple times and the only reason we won was because Binnington was god awful. Against Vegas he has let in multiple weak goals. It has been an up and down playoffs for Markstrom. We aren't going to sign Markstrom to 6m+ then trade Juolevi + to keep Demko that is crazy stupid. If you think that Seattle is going to take like a 3rd/4th round pick to not take Demko you are dreaming. It will be very expensive to keep Demko and Markstrom and at the same time have Markstrom signed to a NTC which he will clearly want and leave Demko as backing him up for the next 3-4 years or being traded regardless like Anaheim did with their D. It is a stupid way to go about the expansion draft.
  15. I don't know what game you want by Demko tracked the puck through screens and made everything look easy even though they were incredibly difficult saves. Just because Markstrom gets out of position and makes some "big" save doesn't mean he has played better. Markstrom has looked been all over the map these playoffs. He has been very inconsistent. You do not need two goalies to win that is ridiculous to say you need 2 goalies. When has 2 goalies worked in the playoffs? One always gets all the games. Shea Theodore was the cost for The Ducks to keep their players. I am not giving up Shea Theodore quality talent to keep Demko when you can just let Markstrom walk and save a ton of cap as well.
  16. It's not one good game. It is an elimination game with the season on the line and he was an absolute rock. Markstrom has had 15 games? And not once did he look anywhere near as good as what Demko did for 60 minutes. We need cap space. Throwing excess money at Markstrom is a huge mistake when Demko looks to be ready to take the reins. We are not throwing away anymore picks. Take the money you save from Markstrom get a Dman or a forward and move on.
  17. Tim thomas did not have the greatest goaltending performance in finals history. He played okay just Vancouver couldn't score. They did have many grade A scoring chances. I don't remember any big saves he made. He just didn't let in bad goals after game 2.
  18. The Blues kept getting horrible goaltending in the playoffs. They even traded for Ryan Miller that one year and he laid and egg as well. Binnington came in in front of stacked defense and put up great numbers when Allen struggled. It was a pretty small sample size and now you are seeing what Binnington is and that is well below average. He got hot and over confident and now he is being exposed for what he is a career backup.
  19. I read an article on NHL.com not that long ago and he basically wants a full NMC. I think St.Louis will offer him with an 8 year front loaded, bonus heavy contract with an average around 8m. If he goes to FA he is going to easily get the same contract with a 10M average at 7 years. Colorado will be able to offer him well above market value if they really wanted to and he is a someone they desperately need.
  20. What he does now going forward will tell if he should be GM or not in the future. The team definitely has glaring holes but that is to be expected now he has to fill those holes and make The Canucks a legit contender - which some GM's struggle with. Personally, with the expansion draft coming up and with how Demko held it together in a big elimination game he has to let Markstrom walk. This team is better with adding another dman or forwards than keeping Markstrom at 6m+. You can sign a veteran for cheap like Holtby to back him up. I don't see Holtby getting paid much. This team really needs better puck movers on the back end... Most of these guys are just flipping the puck out cause they can't make that tape to tape breakout pass. Letting Markstrom walk also allows you to not be forced to trade a guy like Eriksson and give up quality picks or prospects inreturn. He can still trade Demko and get quality picks back.. but Demko just looked so calm and composed I wouldn't want to let him go and the fact he is only 24.. I think it is worth the risk to give him the reins next year.
  21. That had literally no cap space and have to sign Pietrangelo to at least 8.5m per season if not 10m. They still need to dump another 7-8m at least.
  22. And The Blues still have no cap space and the only players without NTC are O'reilly and Schenn. Good luck St.Louis.
  23. Why would a mod delete my post about Demko saving the canucks 6m in a cap space.. Was it getting too many likes and someone got jealous, lol?
