  1. Everyone loved Carter while he was here. To say he wasn't offered more money because he is black is a complete joke. Maybe other teams around the league didn't offer him a contract because of that but, as he says, Vancouver had a deal for him he just wanted more $$$ than what they were willing to pay. Columbus paid and paid the price for their stupidity.
  2. I get that but the fact Bouwmeester's heart stopped and that he probably will never play hockey again and that he is just alive makes me think he is going to get it.
  3. Bouwmeester almost died. Ryan overcame an addiction. My vote is on Bouwmeester.
  4. Pretty sure Jay Bouwmeester has this one locked in.
  5. Your liver regenerates in a few months. It's our only organ that can regenerate.
  6. This is why you need to thoroughly research charities you donate too. I think Melnyk is just clueless not committing fraud but either way this guy needs to be kicked out of the league.
  7. https://www.nhl.com/news/vancouver-canucks-christopher-tanev-contract-update/c-317110104 This was out last night and no one posted it...smh.
  8. I don't think anyone thought OJ would be better than Tkachuck. It was more so we needed defense and you don't want to go the route The Oilers did where you just keep drafting forwards because they are the BPA.
  9. Tampa Bay has a rating system. They rate all the players based off their own algorithms and then pick the best player available. It is very similar to what Vancouver has been doing.
  10. Benning worked his ass off to get himself in a position to be GM of a hockey team and Bracket wanted to skip all the work in the trenches and be the man making the decisions. At least the draft decisions. No matter how good that person is you can't allow insubordination. There has to be a chain of command. Like Benning said I don't think there is going to be an NHL team that is going to give Bracket what he wants.. unless he isn't a scout but assistant GM or GM. I am not huge Benning fan either but you can't allow what Bracket tried to do. It's not good leadership to hand over autonomy to someone in a department that you yourself came from. It shows weakness and will be your undoing especially if Bracket in a few years went to Aquilini and said make me GM or I am leaving look at the drafting I did. This was all me.
  11. You just don't want to admit you're blatantly wrong.
  12. Actually, You are wrong. The General Managers job is to make the final decision. They are the one who loses their job if the team doesn't do well. They are the ones who were hired based off the vision they sold to ownership. Benning was a scout he is familiar with the job he can do the job. Benning listened to his scouts based off the reports of him wanting other players than what were selected. Bracket is the one who had a problem with being a team player. He didn't want to answer to JB. He wanted to select the players and have JB sign off it.
  13. Bracket is the one who wanted total autonomy and if what people are saying here is true JB didn't select the players he wanted to. He went by committee so I have no idea what the &^@# you are talking about.
  14. Listen to what Bracket wanted. Total autonomy in drafting. What kind of GM would let a scout have total control of drafting? He is basically saying I know better than you. The GM's job is to be the one to make the final decision. If not then he shouldn't be GM. I will add for someone to think like that they must think they were the reason for a lot of the teams success or saw picks they wanted turn into great players... there has to be some reason why someone would want that autonomy so badly.
  15. I am pretty sure it was set up this way because they didn't want to continue the regular season but they wanted to get the same number of games played to try and salvage some revenue.
  16. I grew up watching Ryan Gosling on Breaker High, lol.
  17. Ryan Reynolds, Ryan Gosling, Keanu Reeves, Jim Carey, Seth Rogan, William Shatner, Michael J. Fox .... Are you like 90?
  18. The evidence is there to suggest it was created in a laboratory. It's not that far fetched to believe that.
  19. https://theprovince.com/sports/hockey/ben-kuzma-canucks-planning-for-healthy-return-of-ferland-if-season-is-salvaged?utm_term=Autofeed&utm_medium=Social&utm_source=Twitter#Echobox=1585864493 Ferland is working out in Brandon, Man. to prepare for training camp, whether it’s in June or July, or September if the season doesn’t resume. He turns 28 on April 20. “I’ve been told he should be ready to go and be able to do the things he’s always done,” Canucks’ general manager Jim Benning said Thursday. “We’re going to plan accordingly that he’s going to be healthy.”
  20. Obviously you don't read much. JB said Leivo is unknown and Ferland will likely return for the playoffs.
  21. Ah yes put Beagle in the press box and Leivo is magically cured and Ferland is nowhere to be found.
  22. No, it wouldn't have. It didn't look like a bad hit at all. It didn't look like something a player would be injured on. It was just a fluke injury.
  23. Insurance companies won't just insure anyone and if they insure a high risk person the premiums are extremely high. If that person paid the premiums there is nothing the insurance company can do. I don't even think we know if the contract is insured and with his history I doubt it was even insurable. Not just that but insurance companies have doctors or use credible doctors and they will not accuse a doctor of lying.
  24. The Raymond tangled up was purely accidental.
