    I'm not really disagreeing with you, but Frick n Frack come to mind. It's more about team philosophy. EDIT: I see you meant to say in the uber modern NHL. To that, gotta have a 2-3 year cushion there to see who actually comes out of it and sticks. Again not disagreeing with you, but maybe zoom out a little.

    Very good observations. You are right about driving the coaches nuts, and about the opposition being unaware. Watching him closely, I've been somewhat surprised that rarely do his gambles go the other way. That kind of judgement and on-the-fly analysis is making me believe he's really freaking good. Already.

      Hahah yea I remember Krutov, man was he ever talented, too bad he ate himself out of the NHL. Thanks for the reminder Joe :P 

       

      Tough to say Joe, IMO I think Trymak just needs a little push rather than sent back to Russia, he could be the type of D we need.

      As long as the KHL exists, it will always be risky drafting and signing Russians.  JB gave this particular Russian an "out-clause" in his contract.  If things go south for the Canucks in regards to Tryamkin, the blame can be laid at the feet of both JB and WD.

       

      The "Russian Factor" has claimed the Canucks as its latest victim.  Unfortunately though this wound is partially self-inflicted.

      I really want Willie to play Try too but we have a deep defensive lineup and he will only be inserted into the lineup is if any of our defencemen get injured which is the case with Tanev but we called up Stecher which only seems logical but to put Troy in the lineup as much as I want Try to play.

    Thank you. WOW. .138 in October. Good luck getting your 20million. No wonder his agent wanted to cash out last summer. The guy just lost like 50million dollars this year. Agent was smart, delivery wasn't. I haven't forgotten what Bats has done, HOWEVER, Playoff ball is NL style. Real baseball. Jose' legs are gone, less range as an OF. 50M for the pair wont happen in TO. Blank cheque for EE? thoughts?

    Looking forward to a shift away from the slugging approach. I love small, cerebral baseball. Not gonna speculate on EE or JB at this point but, I wouldnt mind a look at Pompey. Side note: Hazel Mae talking like a crisis nurse kinda did it for me.

    Professional ball players probably don't drink much anymore during the regular season, David Wells sees the Coors light in all of them though.... Tulo is my freaking hero, not just for tonight. Any word on the starter or are we sweating that until TUES am?

    I wonder if Nikita is a student of the game? I guess it'd be hard for him to have a personal 'book' on players and tendencies with the language barrier. He will have to try and be an NHL regular based off his raw skill until he is capable of being more cerebral with regards to the English language. We have such little experience with Russians of late in Van City, and for good reason... I suppose. Carrying 8 D is a wise move to bring along Tryamkin slowly... I'm thinking he alone is the reason we will carry the 8, with only one extra forward. He'll be on the NHL roster getting NHL pay. We're kinda extending some courtesy to him when you think about it. That being said, our D was just horrendous last year and management could be concerned about icing NHL calibre D and fresh legs. Could be a fortunate situation, in fact I'm convinced it is. I really don't wanna see Nik leave.

    Soo, we should all know that he doesn't like being called 'Tree' I wonder what some other nicknames will be or what his teammates call him? I have the biggest man crush on the big guy. He's a big deal!!!! Hope some people buy his jerseys and give him signs of support.

    Just remember that AA traded Dickey for Thor... I too am upset he isn't back with the club, but there was internal Beeston type politics and Rogers went another way. Life goes on and nobody is perfect. Lawrie for Donaldson but yea, Dickey for Thor doesn't even make that a wash.
