A lot of your rosters are probably out of whack due to the trades. Will fix those tonight/tomorrow.

@Nail I guess would appreciate your assistance. Or is he tanking since the deadline with his empty goalie spot? ::D

On the other note, thanks so much to all commissioners! You are doing a great job in keeping this league as fun as it is.

On another note :), it is very interesting to see how the league has developed since its inception. I remember wild trades, chaos in prediciting which team might be ready to contend and now it is harder to make trade (I guess much closer to real NHL GM negotiations), teams are usually directing their team to either developing young players or stuffing the roster with play-off bound NHLers. So I guess I am just sharing how much I enjoy to be part of this league.

The Montreal Canadiens have placed Jonathan Ericsson on waivers. He will clear at 5:25PM, PST on Sunday Oct 27th.

The San Jose Sharks have placed Cody McLeod on waivers. He will clear at 5:25 PM, PST on Sunday Oct 27th.

@Jaku or other commissioners, please assign McLeod to my minors assuming he cleared. Thank you.

The main selling point in divisions is to create playoff rivalries, at least it is in the NHL. We see in RL how this often results in two high end teams playing each other early.

This is why I prefer to just have top 8 make it in the west, top 8 in the east.

Would solve any issues now and going forward.

But no one else seems to like that idea.

I like it. Simple, solves it.

small.png  To DAL: Jamie Benn (5.25M retained 2019/2020, 2.625M retained 2020/2021), Andy Greene (2.5M retained 2019/2020), Lucas Wallmark (250K retained 2019/2020), Kyle Topping

Tough to let our franchise player and no. 1 pick from the original fantasy draft go. I do not make these statements often but will do short an exception here. San Jose Sharks would like to thank Jamie Benn for his services and leadership that propelled us to the Stanley Cup win! You were the heart of our franchise. We wish you all the best with Dallas and will cheer for your new team in upcoming seasons and play-offs. You deserve another shot at cup!

There is no turning back now and our team is in full rebuild/retool mode. We hope that next season will serve as a starting point but I do not expect us to be bottom feeders and play-offs might be a possibility. We are building our team around younger core now and are still open to talk players over 26.

Also we might have given up too much in the trade (after long, creative and enjoyable negotiations that did not include Jamie at all in the beginning) but it helps us with a cap space going forward and acquiring another 1st and Crouse is something that complements our plan nicely. And yes, getting a legend such as Erik Gudbranson replaces a good looking aspect of our team that would be lacking after Jamie´s departure.

Chicago was over the cap. This deal brings them under with a cheaper (but older) player with more positional availability, who scores a point per game higher, and is on an arguably better IRL team next year for fantasy CHI’s cup push. Also a great prospect who will undoubtedly wreck this league’s scoring system. In return, a 23 year old winger who scores 2.3 pts a game, for sure has future potential but at this moment doesn’t help a contender, a late second round pick two years from now, and a former late 1st round defenceman who has yet to play pro hockey, once again does have potential and could be good after CHI’s cup window. Big note is dropping CHI below the cap while improving their roster at the same time for a cup. Win win deal

Thanks a lot. I understand the cap reason. Is ARZ than much better than MIN for a cup push? Maybe... Ratcliffe will undoubtedly wreck this league´s scoring system while PO has yet to play pro hockey. Ehm, fine, that guy can accumulate hits but is he much closer to NHL than PO? Maybe... I am trying to see things from different perspective and your take helped. Is it still a fair deal? Maybe... :)

If Fiala is not part of the deal I would say fair trade but he is there. Am I alone having a hard time to process this trade?

  12. I understand both @D-Money and commissioners. To me Gurianov value went down since drafted (also already 4 years ago!). Mitchell put up 57 points in NCAA and he turned 20 just some months ago, impressive for a defender. As explained by commissioners I totally understand these are still prospects and it is not easy to project their future, put value on them and decide for or against trades. So I respect their decision with GMs having responsibility for projecting and just have my opinsimilarion to D-Money´s.

Funny memory. I had one trade vetoed. I wanted to acquire Datsyuk for Stephens (drafted 33 OA in RL)+ in what seemed to be Pavel´s last season. I was told the trade is favouring my team. I was kinda shocked but funny that it felt somehow good that people though I was going for a good trade. Datsyuk left the league just months later with Stephens still being a fine prospect (his career is little slowed by injuries). I am very happy the trade did no go through coz I would regret it. :)

  13. Sharks are officially making Devan Dubnyk available. Aging no. 1 goalie in Minnesota on a good contract.

Our team aims to contend starting the 2020/21 season again and other players are on the board including:

Jonas Brodin, Ryan Getzlaf. We are open to discuss Jamie Benn as well even though he remains to be our star who will be hard to move.

We are looking for both 2019 and 2020 picks and prospects.

Lastly, I wanna send thanks to @Salter, @thejazz97 for being so active and helpfull in directing the league to the draft.

    small.png  @thejazz97 vs small.png  @maroe

    Cup chances?

CGY ~ 0% (Meier against the world)

FLA ~ 0% (Binnington against the world)

NYR ~ 2% (rooting for SJS to make finals plus Pavelski or E. Karlsson injured plus CAR in finals with Mrazek as a goaltender; even then NYR chance to win is not a sure thing)

ARZ ~ 98% (stacked team with players from all four teams remaining)

Seems like the parade preparations in Arizona can start.

  15. Good luck to all teams battling in the Play-offs! Especially I wish the best to former Shark Jason Spezza who is currently scoring for @Master Mind´s team.

Sharks are retooling and won´t contend next season. Therefore players can be moved.

    Not signed (resigned) will be:

    Maxim Zhukov (G, VGK)

    Kevin Gravel (D, EDM)

    Nikita Popugaev (F, NJD)

    Available to be moved:

    Devan Dubnyk (G, MIN)

    Andy Welinski (D, ANA)

    Kyle Clifford (F, LAK)

    Dmitrij Jaskin (F, WSH)

    Ryan Getzlaf (F, ANA)

    Chandler Stephenson (F, WSH)

    Kevin Roy (F, ANA)

Can be discussed to be moved:

    Jonas Brodin (D, MIN)

    Jamie Benn (F, DAL)

Prices vary. I am looking for prospects, picks or younger players in return. I can take some cap short-term.
