  2. ny jets cut bell.... why do I cheer for this team

    1. Nucker 67

      Nucker 67

      As a Steelers fan, I'm glad they got rid of him when they did. Same with Brown.

    2. Toews

      Toews

      The Steelers should have kept him and the Jets should have never signed him. Steelers definitely make the playoffs the first year when he sat out and they likely make it the next year, of course its tough to say as the Fitzpatrick trade was a big part of their season last year and I am not sure how that would have been complicated by having Bell on the cap. I think Steelers fans unfairly lump Brown and Bell, Brown was legitimately a headcase, they dumped him too late. Bell doesn't have the same issues as Brown, which is why I believe the Steelers even tried trading for him last year. James Connor is not close to a replacement for what Bell did in that offense. Also Adam Gase is just a clueless HC, the only reason why he still has a job is because who wants to commit career suicide by trying to coach this Jets team?

  3. schmidt's a nice get, benning should still be on the hot seat

      @thejazz97 Why?

      Frozen in place because of patience. Just because he chose to do nothing at one moment, doesn't mean he was eating donuts.

      Before the trade, giving up on Benning was a bizarre time because anyone who had bore with Benning up to this point could see he wasn't done.

      Yes, Benning got a new car, and he deserves it. @Master Mind

      I'm not sure about the hot seat, but at least a tepid seat. He's solved a lot with Schmidt, but probably still needs at least one more bottom pairing defenseman, unless he wants to count on Juolevi being a #6 right out of the gate. Might be nice to have some experienced depth though. Rafferty as #7 is risky.

  4. this should have been updated for the new dates, but in our rules on page 1 “Players playing in NCAA can only be signed between 1 July and 30 September, unlessthey are an existing draft pick of your team.” We’ll amend these dates to 9 October and 31 December, seeing as the new season’s slated to start in January 2021
  5. benning better have an ace up his sleeve or start preparing his resume

  16. It was slated to be July 21 to September 14, but we'll likely come out with some amended dates within the next week or so.
  17. FA Frenzy With October 9 approaching, here are some basic guidelines that we'll be using to navigate the free agent season: Unsigned UFAs will be removed from rosters no later than October 9th in the morning. They may be removed without warning before then. As RFAs are automatically qualified, they will not be removed off rosters at this time. Any offers without a plan in the organization will be disregarded. Usually, if a player doesn't receive a vision for how they fit onto the team, they will wait to consider the offer until a team sends one. The Commissioner Team encourages teams to send organizational plans with their offers regardless of the time of year, but for the month of October, any offers to UFAs without a pitch will not be considered. You can offer the max contract of 5 years, $15.6m, but without a pitch, it won't be considered. There is a process for signing FAs this year (again). The process has been detailed below, and aims to curb arms races over players. Hopefully, we don't end up with a $2.5m Adam Cracknell again When signing RFAs, as per usual, giving compensation to the player's former team will be required. If the team that owns the rights to an RFA declines to match an offer, they will receive a payment from the signing team, as outlined below. Any draft picks transferred do not have to be ones designated to the signing team, but will have to be held by the signing team at the time the contract is signed. There will not be a period of time where the players and teams can "talk". You may send in an offer before October 9, but it will not be considered before then. Enquiries as to what players might sign for will not be considered by UFAs during the first week of FA frenzy, but will be afterwards. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
