  1. Except for not having a D or a Goallie. But they can rely upon Bettman's officiating love because the NHL wants McJesus in the big show to sell sell sell the game. Man, if the Nucks last game is meaningful, the officiating will be a huge Nucks challenge.
  2. Yup, it's telling that Management thought Mott's contribution to a play-off push is worth less than a 4th.
  3. I think I would have kept him to the end of the year and let him walk vs. the 4th round pick. That said, we have no idea what goes on behind closed doors and all the factors that informed the decision to take a fourth. I usually give management some leeway as they are much better placed to know what is best, as compared to CDC arm chair GMs.
  4. Wow, Lames score again, watch for another weak call coming up to give McJesus a PP
  5. Wild ride, beat both teams. Great Demko magic, great top guns, and I laugh at the soft calls (Limiko and Schene). Took forever for the refs to make the call when garland was mugged and when Myers had his stick held. Refs giving McJesus and the Coiler love tonight as well. GCG
  6. Of course Bettman and his posy would prefer McJesus in the play-offs over Miller. He sells the game with his super skill. The NHL does not want the Nucks in the show. It's obvious. BB now getting a taste of bias woes. If the league cared, they would be more consistent and accountable for their officiating. They would also fix the unjust cap system. It's a business and they are a monopoly league that's always flirting with the balance between integrity and making more money. We know where Bettman stands and he represents the majority of owners. It's an unprofessional professional sport. I thought the league wanted to be tough on boarding, head shots and cross checks. Last two games suggest otherwise. It's all about a hidden agenda that includes money. That doesn't excuse the Nucks, they started playing way too late in the year to have a real shot at anything. GCG
  7. I look forward to seeing some clips of the Highmore hit. BB was pretty pissed.
  8. That was insane. Great effort Nucks, suck it reffs. The Avs are so fast and skilled, don't need and special treatment.
  9. Interesting idea and I agree about the need for size and might but how do you convince their agents to keep them buried there if they are NHL ready? If they are new draft picks, how do you know when or if they would be NHL ready?
  10. IDK, many US teams have similar approaches, look at California. What do you do about the numerous first overall picks for Edmonton. Was it a patience issue, contract timing issues, or just plain incompetence. Wish Vancouver would have had the same dilemma--too many top picks in too short of time.
  11. It actually undermines the intended purpose of the cap (equal opportunity), unless fraking Canadian teams was the ulterior motive. But as Mikey stated, we have some bad valued contracts and wasted picks to add to our woes. It's a trifecta...
  12. How is this a Canadian issue? Canada clearly has a tax disadvantage but many teams suffer from impatience, Northern and Southern.
  13. I wonder if Trevor will shed any light on this now that JB is gone. The Roster is not bad but yes, the cupboards are pretty bare, which is what happens when you try to retool vs. rebuild. Not sure how much was JB's or ownership's call.
  14. Big loss on Motte. He's not big but he plays like it. He's fast, gritty, and fearless. This team needs more of that. He's worth more than a 4th even for the balance of the year, even if he walks.
  15. Too little, too late but an improvement over the Wing and Flame games. The boys were hitting and more composed, but the first 5 minutes cost them the game. The home record is the blemish on the season. Not even close to being acceptable. I feel for Bruce and I bet Green is chuckling. But all is not lost, we still have assets to deal and we can still make a run next year, with or without Brock. Getting rid of the country club culture starts with adding more grit and dumping soft players.
  16. Nucks are playing with some anger tonight. Nice to see. Pettey throwing more hits than usual. Even saw Brock check someone.
  17. Last time I stopped there for a visit my cousin was attacked in an alley after taking a leak. Some home-owner thinking he was about to commit yet another B&E. Living too close to the local bar I guess.
  18. So Stech gets reunited with Edler in LA. They must be looking for some PO depth. Hard to believe they are ready to contend. I wonder when the Nucks will be back in the contender conversation.
  19. Well put, Pettey gets cross checked to the ice by Gud, away from the puck with no call. Did anyone even hit Johnny G once? If anyone had crossed checked Johnny, would Calgary have retaliated? The Nucks are more about one for one and all for none, playing too soft to have any meaningful identity. I hope the new management takes a big step toward the rough and tough to compliment speed and youth. GCG
  20. I agree they have been playing well under BB. The exception is their home record. It's an issue and they get rattled when other teams come out strong in the first. No identity at home, or worse yet, a soft identity at home is what's killing this team's play-off hopes and my passion for this group.
