[Proposal] Ottawa - Vancouver prospect swap
laddie replied to Ilya Mikheyev's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
How about more of a package deal just to ensure our C position is solid. To Vancouver: Logan Brown, Chris Tierney To Ottawa: Olli Joulevi, Zack MacEwen -
Dante Fabbro was benched for all of Nashville’s postseason games this year. With rumours going around that they would like to extend Ekholm could a deal be made to bring Fabbro back home to BC? To Vancouver: Dante Fabbro To Nashville: Olli Joulevi + 3rd round pick Dante Fabbro has much more NHL experience then Olli Joulevi so the Canucks would have to sweeten the deal with a prospect or pick.

Defensemen that fit that criteria and are either a UFA or a RFA (trade possibilities) Right Handed - UFA David Savard - 30, 2020/2021 Cap Hit $4,250,000 Adam Larsson - 28, 2020/2021 Cap Hit $4,166,666 Travis Hamonic - 31, 2020/2021 Cap Hit $1,250,000 Left Handed - UFA Ryan Murray - 28, 2020/2021 Cap Hit $4,600,000 Jamie Oleksiak - 28, 2020/2021 Cap Hit $2,137,500 Alex Edler - 35, 2020/2021 Cap Hit $6,000,000 RFA's Vince Dunn - 24 Nikita Zadorov - 26 Considering we probably need two defensemen, which two would be your pick? -
If his return is in jeopardy does it make sense to sign Sutter to a cheap deal to be our 4C and then still go out and find a 3C?

[Proposal] Nate Schmidt to NY Rangers
laddie replied to Bertuzzipunch's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
What should happen is that they move Schmidt to the left side which is his natural position and go out and find a RH dman to play with him. Having a left side that includes Schmidt, Hughes, Joulevi/Rathbone puts us in a very strong position. Go out get Dumba, Jones, Larsson to play on the first pairing, resign Hamonic and we should be set. -

My comment was a little “tongue in cheek” and I agree we should hire an assistant coach with more NHL experience like say Baumgartner
-
Their power play was horrible under Muller and didn’t improve until March when Alex Burrows took over. Perhaps we should consider bringing Burrows back as an Assistant Coach instead.

So - Who Should The Canucks Take At The Number 9 Spot?
laddie replied to Patel Bure's topic in Canucks Talk
I also really like Kent Johnson for the 9th pick if he is available. Great offensive skills, responsible in his own end and a great skater. I also really like Logan Mailloux for our 2nd round pick. -
I agree I think Logan Mailloux would be a great pick up in the second round. If he had played a whole year in the OHL this year I think he would be ranked much higher due to his size and skating ability.

According to TSN Insider Trading, the Kings are looking for a young Left handed d man and here is the quote: "Names like Gabriel Vilardi, Quinton Byfield, Akil Thomas and Arthur Kaliyev are all believed to be in play as Blake is looking to pair someone up long-term with either Drew Doughty or Sean Walker." There are some interesting names on that list but are we willing to part with Joulevi, Rathbone or Tryamkin for one of these players?

If we don’t need to great but I’m more asking about the premise of the trade
-
With Tampa Bay facing a cap crunch like ours is it possible to take on Tyler Johnson, with 1 million retained, plus Cal Foote for Kole Lind, Rafferty and 2nd Round Pick? I know this isn’t much for Tampa Bay but it allows them to resign the players they want to and it gives us a young right shot dman for the future. The return may not be perfect but with us giving up a couple of prospects it allows TB not to take on any more salary but it costs them a very good prospect.

Identifying RHD Prospects to Acquire (Discussion)
laddie replied to J.I.A.H.N's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
How about Lassi Thomson from the Senators? Good right handed puck moving dman with a good shot and first pass. Ottawa will be hungry for goaltending prospects which might make for an interesting trade. Lassi -
Any company would terminate the employment of one of its employees if this type of chat was discovered and then made public to their clients. Whether a person is 25 or 45 they are personally responsible for their actions and all companies would hold them responsible for acting in professional manner. A company was paying Brendan $700,000 a year to represent them entertaining the public through sport. He knew this, he screwed up and he deserves to be fired.

I live in Nova Scotia and the events of the last couple of days has really impacted the community. The details that have started to emerge are nothing short of evil and disturbing. However the province is known for its people, the kindness and sense of community we all share. While the motive I’m sure will be discussed and argued the senseless loss of innocent people who were mothers, fathers, and important members of our community and the memories and legacy of each of them is what is important.
-
I agree completely and that’s why a trade like this is only possible if the teams performance over the next month drops us out of playoff contention.
-
I don’t know how they are even remotely similar players and I think you are highly overvaluing Baer who hasn’t played more then 69 games, is 4 years older, has never hit the 20 goal mark and is currently playing in the AHL.
-
I do share your hatred of the Leafs but I’m not so quick to discount a 23 year old who has scored 20 goals already in the league.
