  1. Not likely a valid assumption. Pretty well all of his posts read like they were written by an obnoxious teenager, eager to jump on any opportunity to annoy the grown ups.
  2. Many people like to believe they know the future. Like what young players' ceilings will be. No matter how many players (eg: Tanev, Burr, Kesler) demonstrate that this belief is silly.
  3. Enjoyed hearing Cherry saying during the intermission that Guddy would be a great addition to the Leafs, but he would cost at least Brown or maybe even Marner.
  4. The problem with EP playing in the AHL is the same problem he had in this tourney. When he is playing with inferior players who can't get him the puck and who aren't where they should be when he wants to give them the puck, it leads to him trying to do it all himself. Which does not produce good results, frustrates him, and is not the best way to develop him imo.
  5. Sounds great. How did that happen? Aquaman dug deep into his wallet to bribe Buttman to allow us to win the lottery?
  6. That's kinda how it is with groin injuries. Would actually prefer a broken bone, because then at least you have a fairly reliable time frame for healing.
  7. Many of us do. And unless he has been misquoted, Tram seems to hope the same thing.
  8. And then next season they take the next step and join the Canucks as a ready made two thirds of a line. Worked out ok the last time we brought one of those over from Sweden. Got my vote.
  9. Nobody here cares what the IRS or CRA consider hockey players to be. They have many rules that are not particularly reasonable. And even if you are correct, it does not make Tram a traitor or a person of poor character for complying with his contract, expecting the team to do the same, and when his contract expired, making a choice to keep his wife happy.
  10. So family reasons really don't matter to you? If our former goalie coach Rollie resolved his family issues and wanted to come back, you wouldn't want him back because he left? I feel sorry for your wife or girlfriend. And your employees.
  11. I'm going to go out on a limb and say yes, Benning does still think that it is necessary to have a physical presence on the back end.
  12. You can disagree all you want, but the market (eg: Hall for Larsson) makes it clear that top Dmen are harder to find than top wingers. I would hypothesize that the reason is that as kids, the best players usually become centres, many of whom are wingers at the NHL level. Defense is not as popular a position for kids to play, so fewer of the best players become defensemen.
  13. That's nice. But if you don't want to continue to be ridiculed, you should try to understand that "making it" does not necessarily mean scoring 30 goals or 60 points per year. Defensive players, like Malhotra, are also very important to a contending team. Not everybody wants an "Oiler-style" team that produces plenty of offence, but is incompetent defensively.
  14. Yeah, I don't think there's much chance that JB panics and sells the seed corn, or the horses as you put it. Pretty sure Dahlen and the other top Canucks prospects and picks are going nowhere soon.
  15. Yeah, preventing the opposition from scoring certainly is nothing that impacts the game. Lol.
  16. Not as informative as your usual posts, but I gave you a plus for your use of mercurial and arcane in the same sentence. Lol.
  17. Imagine how good he will be when he's old enough to shave! Lol.
  18. I certainly hope that it's not common for our prospects to browse CDC, because if they read the comments of the "realistic" fans, I could see a lot of our prospects demanding trades before even signing entry level contracts.
  19. Apparently in your mind A course taught you as much or more about teaching as those who have an entire degree in teaching. Much like someone who took A high school course in business assuming that they learned as much or more about business as you learned in half a decade while earning a BComm. Arrogant much?
  20. When discussing Willie's ability to teach Tram, a degree in teaching is obviously relevant. A degree in Commerce does not teach you how to teach others. As you should know if you have one. You seem to be being willfully obtuse.
  21. You are wrong. BComm is Bachelor of Commerce.
  22. So do I. But when I went to school, we learned about business. People who wanted to learn how to teach others got BEds, not BComms. Education is what Willie studied, not Commerce. Your post does not make sense.
  23. Well somebody did. One poster was repeatedly cursing other posters who dared to quote one of his posts that he didn't want to admit to. And then some mod who apparently likes to emulate the teachers who punish a whole class for the transgression of one person decided to give everybody a timeout.
  24. Yeah, I think it's something like saying "Beetlejuice".
  25. I'm starting to get a bit jaded with this kid. I now expect him to get points every game, and any game he doesn't get at least two or three points, I'm like *yawn*. Lol.
