  1. ya but what is he going to do on that fourth line. Im no expert on neck injuries but you'd think that you would shy away from hitting and definitely wouldn't be fighting. Whiplash is another factor to worry about. I just don't see where he fits in on any team. If Im benning I try to trade him, let Vegas take him or waive him and hope someone grabs him. He might be a good guy to have in Utica as a mentor but don't see how else he fits. Looking like another bad UFA signing thats going to be stuck with us.
  2. Is Dorsetts career over? With neck surgery Dorsett won't be able to play like he used to. Plus he is getting older. Whats the chance he has to retire? Bought out? He isn't an offensive guy so how does he fit in with the team in years to come? Any ideas? Is he worth anything in a trade?
  3. Zuk is a centre and Lock a winger. Good chance if Lockwood makes it he could be our next Hansen. Physical, hard working, fast, good defensively with some offensive upside. Might be a very good 3rd line winger in a few years.
  4. I will be amazed if Benning doesn't move a D this summer with all his talk of doing so. Also if Sbisa is exposed to Vegas, they will take him. I would be asking Edler to waive his no trade clause though and then trade him to a potential contender. I would then trade another of Hutton, Sbisa, Gudbranson. Lets just say Sbisa is traded along with Edler. Hutton-Tanev Juolevi-Gudbranson Tryamkin-Stetcher <---Give these three pairing equal time on Ice and let the young guys develop with mentorship from Tanev. Biega-Pedan<---give Pedan a chance already Subban-Sautner McEneny-Brisebois Sautner-Cederholm Neill <-----these 7 in Utica as callups A young D group but with experience from Edler and Gudbranson. Allows competition between youngsters and helps with the retool. You have to respect what Benning has done with this D in the last couple years.
  5. What about Goldy? He could be in there even sooner, BO, Baer, Boeser, Goldy, Stetcher. Gaudette, Tryamkin(net front), Granlund, Hutton, Boucher
  6. Heres hoping, he has a lot of skill and I think will turn into a reliable top 4 defensemen, but he could be an absolute game changer if he plays physical consistently and gets a mean aspect to his game
  7. haha he's a giant softy, I love how he plays but damn would it be nice if he had some anger in him! That one game where he hit everything and was an absolute monster was one of the best things Ive seen from the Canucks all year
  8. Exactly, Playing with speed is much more important then bulk, He may need to strengthen up but Od say he can do that this summer. I will be surprised if Juolevi is with the Knights next year and think he will be on our team.
  9. ya but you have to think you go to a place thats best for you, not necessarily whats the coolest. Canucks need centres and wingers
  10. haha Id say its better then that. We have one of his teammates developing nicely and we've shown that we'll play kids that deserve it. What Stetcher has done may influence others.
  11. Agreed, for the right price he's worth acquiring. Id say we need a centre more though. Wouldn't be surprised to see Benning put a big package together for Duchene or another quality centre. Hutton-Lockwood and a second?
  12. Oh ya forgot about that. Dumb rule haha I guess it will depend on his training camp but I won't be surprised if he makes it, especially when Benning trades one of our Defenseman. Im guessing Edler Tanev Sbisa or Hutton. Stetcher and Tryamkin should be untouchable and I doubt he trades Guddy(unless Guddys asking for more money then he's worth)
  13. He will be playing pro next year. If only as a bit of a publicity stunt. My guess is in the A with regular callups
  14. Apparently Boucher was really out of shape when he got here. Maybe Willies teaching him to be a pro. I would say Boucher needs more offensive opportunities like on the power play. Maybe the high slot on the power play with the Sedins. Bae-Sedins-boucher-Hutton.
  15. Thats good, you want him competing for a spot every year like everyone else. But he'll be in Utica next year.
  16. hahaha 5-6years. That would be absolute worse case scenario and he'd be traded before then. Virtanen can compete for a spot in the next couple years and will be on our team in 3.
  17. If he comes to training camp in shape, looks like he'll last the year, wrist is good and he lights it up. Then Ill be glad he's on the team. My point is that theres no point rushing a prospect like we did with Virt and McCann and its better to let them play top minutes on a team like Utica. Theres no rush. We have lots of young potential up already. Next year could see us with sedins-Granlund Baer-Bo-Goldy Eriksson-Sutter-Boucher/Rodin/Virtanen/Gaunce/signed UFA(I think is likely). There are a lot of players competing for winger spots and theres no use having Boeser on a fourth line. If he comes in and outplays others then yes he should be on the team. But that means giving up on another player like Rodin and Boucher who have promise. It wouldn't hurt to let Boeser start in Utica, build confidence/adapt to the pro game and then call him up when theres injuries.
  18. I totally disagree, Yak had tunnel vision and a low hockey IQ. Goldy is more of a playmaker and a higher IQ. Yak may have had more skill but he was a one man team kind of guy and didn't use his teammates. Goldy's going to be better then yak as long as he works hard and he knows that.
  19. With his injury this year it might be best for him to get his confidence up in Utica before making the jump. Half a year or so in Utica would be good for him.
  20. Considering he was ready last summer but wanted to return, I say he signs this summer. But I think it will be to the AHL, no need to rush him onto the team next year. Let him and some other young talents like Dahlen, Virtanen, Gaudette gell down there.
  21. Well Ill keep Tanev then, he fits in better with our young core, is a good leader and doesn't make as many mistakes. Trade Edler if he'll waive or trade Sbisa/Tanev. I don't know why Edler wouldn't waive in the offseason though.. go to a contender and start playing well again.
  22. Ya Id say Goldobin makes the team. Virtanen will depend on training camp and the end of this year. I think Boeser won't make it but be the regular call up.
  23. "The average recovery time for adults is 16-18 days." My guess is that he had the mumps longer then the other and is still recovering. He's a big guy so it might have taken a big toll on his body. I agree that its odd we haven't had an update yet besides knowing that he took Goldy out to dinner
  24. I actually think Goldy has more offensive potential, seems to be more of a playmaker. I don't think that he will be able to round out his defensive game as much though but we'll see
  25. Sophomore year/the mental game and Guddy adapting to the west/bummed wrist left more to be desired. I think those two are going to have big years next year assuming they are resigned/not traded
