  1. The most basic reverse psychology trick there is. The one that everyone now knows and never concedes into. Plus the russian factor would be more like, hey some guy in america is pissing me off, ill just stay here in my home country mking millions close to my family without all the added pressure.
  2. I want him signed big time. He’s gonna have a lot of eyes on him in Utica next year, I hope he’s ready for it!
  3. Assist to PLD today for BO. 15+ mins in ice time! Good game for him stats wise
  4. It hasnt happened more than likely wont so whats the point of saying that?
  5. I SEe what youre trying to say but you cant make that assumption because NOBODY EVER has had a season like EP in the sHL. Thats pretty much why theres so much hype around him right now.
  6. Honestly EP is living proof that you don't need to tank to create a Solid team. I mean he was picked 5th overall, and might have even slipped down to 7th (Vegas really wanted their player), and now in hindsight is the best pick of the 2017 draft. Of course Hischier and Patrick will have some words to say on the matter, but in a re-draft, EP doesn't get past 2nd OA. Him, Boeser, Juolevi Horvat, Demko, Gaudette, Tryamkin, Lind, Gadjovich, Goldobin, Virtanen, and Dahlen are not lottery picks, and we seem to have a very strong core developping. This is thanks to our scouting department, which has been miles ahead of the Gillis era scouting team, and honestly, we are in for a crazy treat the next 15+ years. Back to the topic that is EP, i am astonished at the season he has had, and i can't wait to see him take a roster spot and not look back. For me, there is absolutely no doubt he finishes the year as our 1C. Absolutely no doubt. I completely understand if some people don't agree, or would rather stay cautiously optimistic for the time being, but I just have one of those feelings. He is the next big Canuck swede, and I really hope he has what it takes to get that SCF game 7 monkey off our back. The sky is the limit for EP.
  7. Because many people on this board only look at the stats, have never player hockey at a high level, and expect OJ to be tearing up every level he plays at at a Bobby Orr rate, and if he isnt, then they criticise him and claim he’s a bust. Is this the first time youve heard that Vancouver is the fish bowl?
  8. In retrospect, we did have the 1st OA last year.
  9. If we get an nhl player out of this pick, the trade is in fleece territory with Palmu showing what’s hes been showing as well. Who said JB cant trade?
  10. Benning got Boeser at 23, Gaudette in the 5th round, Demko in the 2nd, Tram Brisebois in the 3rd, Palmu in the 6th, Line and Gadj in the 2nd and I could go on. The draft party will be worth watching regardless of what happens. Back to the topic, I am thrilled that Gaudette is having such a spectacular season. Seems to be doing all the little things right, and seems to be making the most of his chances around the net and thé slot. Very rewarding pick.
  11. we dont need virtanen to be a star, we need him to be a top 6 forward....
  12. Unbelievably false. Please provide some proof. Derek Ryan, Jonathan Marchessault, Scott Darling, Ryan Ellis, Ekholm, Bellemare, Mike Hoffman, Panarin, Burns. All late bloomers, and recent. I only just scratched the surface.
  13. He's turning 22, not 26. Be patient.
  14. I’ll take a wild guess and say SHL scoring winner.
  15. Reid Boucher and Thatcher Demko Named to AHL All-Star Classic ...which will be held at the Utica Memorial Auditorium. by Canucks Media Relations @Canucks / Vancouver Canucks 8:41 PM Share Vancouver, B.C. - The American Hockey League announced today the playing rosters for the 2018 AHL All-Star Classic to be held at the Utica Memorial Auditorium. Utica Comets forward Reid Boucher and goaltender Thatcher Demko have been named All-Stars for the first time in their respective careers. Boucher, 24, currently leads the Comets in goals (13), points (25) and shots (88) and shares the team lead in assists (12) and power play goals (5). His latest five-game point streak included a career-high four point performance (2-2-4) on Dec. 1 at Bridgeport. Demko, 22, has appeared in 22 games for the Comets this season, posting a record of 11-6-5-1 including one shutout. His .924 save percentage ranks fifth in the AHL while his 2.41 GAA ranks 10th. 17. You dont draft a Burrows, Torres, Cooke, Laperriere with a 5th OA pick. You draft Ekman-Larsson.
  18. The thing I love about Boeser’s rookie year, is how jealous everyone is of us. You can see it from the eastern media how much they dont wanna talk about him, just because they’re so petty. He’s a special player, and the entire Bruins scouting department should be fired immediately. 3 at bats and they miss their shot at Boeser..,,
  19. For all the people thinking that teams having the book on Boeser is actually gonna change anything, honestly i just can't agree. There are just some players in this league, very few of them, that just need one shot and they capitalize. Ovechkin and Stamkos have an office on the PP, that weve all known since '06, yet they still score from the very same spot. Boeser has that kind of shot, and no matter how much focus will be on shutting him down, all he will need will be one chance. I see him as a consistent 30 goal scorer at worst. I thought 20 goals this year would be ideal, but 30 games in and he's already pretty much there. It only helps that he has great hands, good vision, and is decent on the defensive side of the puck. And he is tough as nails. I wanted to temper my expectations, but he made it impossible. Barring any injuries, he is the rookie of the year, making a probably terrible season bearable for us die hard fans. I just cant see a sophomore slump, i see the same thing Laine is doing this year in brocks future
  20. 3 apples so far for the kid. 15 mins left in the 3rd.
  21. Palmu doesn't seem to be on the roster today, any reason why? Scratch? Injury? Sick?
  22. For now he's only credited 1 assist and 2 PIM
  23. Tanev made the NHL because in the 2011 finals we got decimated on D.. and he was calm and composed, like he could have had a cigarette in his mouth while he was playing. He stuck because he is coachable and does the small things right. That doesn't mean he has good IQ. You often seen Tanev not know what to do with the puck in the neutral zone, so he dumps it in. That's an example of making the right play, but not having the IQ to make a better play. Tanev has one zone he masters, and that's it, but boy does he master it. But not because he has high IQ, but because he can take a hit, battle hard, and get the puck out. Either way I will agree to disagree with everyone. I understand what im saying is very touchy and that its not a popular opinion, but it is my opinion. Im glad hes on the back end, but this all really comes back to the fact that I personally think Juolevi will be a much better player than Tanev, in bothends of the rink. Juolevi has more hockey IQ in his left pinky than Tanev does, and that's not even a knock on Tanev. And for the record i never said Tanev had low hockey Iq, i said he wasnt a smart player, i think he has average hockey IQ.
  24. The way i see it is as soon as Tanev makes the first pass out, he's absolutely useless. I love him, he's a phenomenal Defensive D, but to compare him to Juolevi, who was drafted because of his high IQ in all 3 zones, is preposterous. Yes it wouldnt be bad to have another tanev, but the reality is, with Juolevi's potential, we're looking more on the Edler pre-2012 side of things. Tanev is a good player, but doesn't have a high hockey IQ, he just knows when to absorb a hit or when to give the puck to the other D by putting it behind the net softly for the other D to pick up and then make the pass out. That's not an inteligent play at all, that's just repetition at practice. How many stretch passes does Tanev make a year? Like 2? His IQ is average.
