  1. He’ll play most of preseason and that’s where management will get a glimpse of where he’s at. He’s 21, no need to rush. He did really well the last 2 years with his limited time, no need to rush him in and feed him to the wolves. Most likely he ends the season with us though. The kid is a talent. Pair him with Tanev and you have a great top 6 Edler Stecher Hughes Schenn Juolevi Tanev Hutton Biega Obviously our LD will need a shakeup as Hutton is not a #7D but I guess we’ll get our fair share of injuries to make it work.
  2. I think he’d take a bridge more like 2 years, to try and up his $ value shortly thereafter. Just my .02$
  3. If Edmonton really made it worth our while (retained plus a good package), we could have a solid 3rd line next year Lucic-Gaudette-Virtanen just cross our fingers Lucic finds even just a fraction of his old game
  4. None of them were close? Are you just choosing to be stupid? EP Edler Boeser Horvat Baertschi Pearson Leivo all had at least 40-50 point paces for us. All of them. That’s 7 right there. 4 of them are our future 2nd unit players so 4/5 of our 2nd unit are 40-50 point players. I don’t understand why you’re not interpreting the stats correctly. Baertschi Leivo Pearson and Edler are the people I’m referring to, since you like to misinterpret everything I say. Bo EP anybody(they like to use granlund for some reason so why not) Boeser Hughes Baertschi Gaudette Pearson Leivo(could be interchangeable with the 1st PP Player) Edler thats a FINE powerplay
  5. Gaudette is a 22 year old hobey baker winning rookie, who has done really well in utica and is being placed in a shutdown role primarily with terrible winger options. Ferraro is one of the brightest hockey minds, and is surrounded by idiots. His projections are usually the most accurate when comparing hockey minds' projections. Did i say he would be a 70 point center? NO. Does Ferraro's claim of huge potential, his collegiate success and his utica success show us he's capable of becoming a 40-50 point player (like i stated). Yes, absolutely, it is not unreasonable in the slightest. He has great speed, high tempo, is tenacious, is a good playmaker and possesses a wicked shot. Pearson scored 40 twice in his short career, and had 12 points in 19 games for us, which i can assume is roughly 52 points. While I don't really think that's what we should expect of him, I do believe he will be a solid 40-50 player for us. Leivo whether or not you accept it, had a 41 point pace with us. At 24 years of age. Yeah that's definitely a sign that he's a 40 point player, whether or not you like that. Edler was on pace for 50 as I already stated. You can say that's bad evaluation, I couldn't care less to be honest, but I think it's pretty good evaluation. That's a terrific 2nd powerplay unit. I do like how you thought i was so stupid to think stecher and hutton were 40 point players, seeing as how our defensemen have been terrible point producers since 2012, but i guess you really just decided to nitpick. Clearly i was talking about the forwards. Cheers
  6. My 40-50 point was about the wingers. It is undeniable they all have 40 point potential, even Virtanen who I omitted in that list seeing as how most people count him out. Edler is a 40 point dman and baertschi is a 45 point man. I also mentionned Gaudette was touted by one of the best hockey minds as a future 70 pt center. pearson scored 40 twice leivo was on pace for 41 with us and baertschi has had his last 3 seasons at over 40 point paces Edler also had 34 in 56 meaning a 50 point pace great to know the nitpickers are there to police cdc!
  7. A 2nd PP doesn’t need stars on it. The way I see it, we’ll have great players on it regardless. Gaudette Leivo PEarson Baertschi Edler Virtanen stecher hutton idk I dont see these guys who are all 40-50 point players (Gaudette has a 70 pt potential apparently according to Ferraro), just suddenly not know how to score with the man advantage. They’re already all competent enough 5v5. Virtanen is the only one that’s not an established winger out of all those 3. Leivo Horvat Petey Boeser Hughes Pearson Gaudette Baertschi Virtanen/ Stecher Edler looks great to me. If you dont like Virtanen, just put Stecher, he’s more than competent enough
  8. Not many of them are as giftend offensively as Goldobin is, so you don’t give up on him easily. I hope he kills it next year
  9. you can’t nitpick Carlson and Doughty and ignore Keith, McAvoy, Karlsson, Letang. There isn’t a prototypical build to a number 1 dman. Sure, Chara and Burns are huge, good for them. Burns has how many cups?
  10. I remember reading that both his injuries were of the variety that healed very well at his age, and would be completely healed up with little chance of re-injuring. Could be wrong though but I wouldn’t worry too much about a top 5 pick that has played really well in now 2 men’s leagues, before the age of 20
  11. Has not played a single nhl game as a 20 year old and he’s a bust? If he wasn’t injured he’d be on our team ever since Edler got injured early and would probably be leading our D in points. The guy has been great everywhere he’s played
  12. Went from the worst prospect pool in the league to consistent top 5... with prospects graduating consistently as well... like what kind of thread is this ?
  13. Juolevi played in the Finnish league because he was CHL eligible still last year. It was NHL, London or europe loan.
  14. Do you not remember Horvat, Virtanen and McCann’s management for the chl 9 game threshold? I doubt Hughes plays enough to become expansion eligible. JB knows what he’s doing.
  15. Fleury played on a stacked team his ENTIRE career. Luongo played 2/3’s of his career on a trash team. Context is everything, much like with Lundqvist.
  16. I dont know what to think of this, so I’ll just trust JB. He’s earned the benefit of the doubt. Feel like something big is gonna happen before the ball drops today
  17. yeah its a solid game. Universe mode is super advanced and is really hard to manage(which is good for hardcore fans), and career mode is apparently one long story mode with a pretty good storyline
  18. DiPietro came, got nhl pay, learned from Markstrom and the goalie coach, saw what the best team in the nhl (Arguably right now) can do, and can only learn from this experience. Guys, he's a 2017 draft pick.... this does not define his career. People acting like this will ruin his confidence, or that they saw things they didn't like therefore are counting him out already, are ridiculous. He's clearly a minimum 3 years away. Me personally, I liked a lot of things I saw. For exemple, his acrobatic save attempt on that 4th goal (i think it was the 4th im not sure anymore) was a very positive sign of his athletic ability. Very intriguing prospect
  19. I can’t take you seriously when you talk about how he’s improved this year, but that somehow he absolutely must go south from now on. Who’s to say he won’t continue and improve (even if just slightly) for the next 3-5 years? You literally just admitted he improved at 32, so why does it absolutely have to stop?
  20. I wholeheartedly agree with this, and people need to realize that having EP, 2 stud dmen prospects a big body powerforward in the making and Boeser, is better than anything we could have ever hoped for out of the last 5 drafts. And don't forget Horvat in 2013. 6 years of excellence at the draft table.
  21. I never said he was better than Edler or Tanev, I said he was 3rd behind them.
  22. No he was our 3rd best dman: Edler, Tanev, Tryamkin. That does not give you 3rd pairing minutes I am sorry. Tryamkin had clearly understood what it took to transition to the NHL, and did very well, and was stuck playing lower minutes than any other dman. He was playing barely above Larsen, and under Hutton, Stetcher, Sbisa, and Gudbranson. At that point in time Try was playing miles ahead of all of them (I do know Guddy was limited to 30 games and Larsen got Hall'ed) but it was some very bad coaching.
