  1. I think my point is quite clear. I believe we're both stating the same thing. Yes I strongly believe OJ needs a full pro season in Abby to reach his full potential. I'm saying he's not ready this season. Especially with the D roster we're trying to build.
  2. Maybe he does become that, I'm just stating with the D we already have & what we need he doesn't fit in next year. Hopefully he keeps developing that in Abby.
  3. Didn't say he was small? He clearly doesn't play a heavy game or isn't going to back your already young guys like Savard, Oleksiak, Hamonic, Gubranson, Schenn, etc. Watched Olli in junior as well quite a bit, never known for his size & physicality. Willing to protect or even a big front net clearer. He's known for his puck moving abilities. We already have enough of that in his class that are better.
  4. So with Hughes, Schmidt, Rathbone, & Meyers already penciled in for next season & us trying to get bigger, stronger & meaner, where & how does Juolevi fit in to our group. In my eyes there's only room for 2 players from these 3 Schmidt, Rathbone & Juolevi. I believe Schmidt will have a bounce back year. Always tough for any player coming in to a new team. He'll be much better this year. Rathbone is just better than Juolevi now. Adding 2 guys you mentioned above is exactly what this team needs. I don't see a spot for Juolevi for next season on this team.
  5. Give up a 1st round pick for OJ? Who's willing to give us that? I would trade him for a 1st round pick ASAP if that was on the table. Highly doubt it is.
  6. Walking from Markstrom 6x6 was a gain. Thank you Demko. Walking from Tanev & picking up Schmidt & Hamonic is a gain. Walking from Toffoli (Madden & 2nd) & re-signing Virtanen was a big loss. Now we need another Toffoli (& what does that cost us?) & we can't even give away Virtanen and his $3.5 mill anchor contract next year who could easily be placed with $1 mill or less players. (Vessey, Boyd, Leivo, Macewan, etc.)

  8. "Too good to be in the AHL" Are you sure about that? This was his last AHL season. I don't recall ever hearing anything like that or see it with my own eyes ever. Stats sure don't back it up either... Sure like to see him sent down there to see if he could even prove your point now? What are our options? Apparently his trade value is next to none. So trading him for nothing to possibly see him wake up there. We gain nothing from this. Maybe knowing this being his last chance to get back to the show actually wakes Jake up? But Maybe he can work his butt off like he should've earned it in the 1st place the good old way instead of handing it to him like a silver spoon, and we finally get the Jake we all dreamed about. Or do I need to wake up again. Regular Season Playoffs Vitals # Player Name Pos. 9. ^ This my post from 2017 ^ This is my post a few weeks ago. I hear you bro. I've supported this guy since his draft year. He's in his 7th Pro Season. When you've been called out publicly by coaches a few years in a row at training camps, then the GM calls you out for your poor playoff performance. This was the season to come out of the gates flying if ever. Instead he needs another reset just 10 games into his 7th Pro Season... 7 years of dreaming he'll mature when he clearly isn't putting in the effort or getting the hockey IQ part of it either. I'm not seeing it anymore. (No PP or PK skills either). The babying him along was fine if he was showing or is still showing signs of a top 6 player. His 3rd line status is pretty much disappearing. So it's definitely not worthy of a 4th liner to be babied along at this point if he is even worthy of that roll in the future. 7+ years to develop a 4th liner making 2.5 Million still needing a timeout from his coaches like a child. Enough is enough.
  10. I've watched Boston play this year a few times. N.Ritchie is on the Top line & Top PP in Boston. 6 points in 6 games (3g 3a) playing 16:00 + a night. I'd take N. Ritchie any day over Virtanen. Ritchie is trending upwards while Jake... Pay attention to the whole NHL & you would've realized this too. https://www.nhl.com/player/nick-ritchie-8477941?stats=gamelogs-r-nhl&season=20202021 Last 5 games Opponent Date G A P +/- PIM PPG SHG S Shifts TOI PIT JAN 26 1 0 1 -1 2 1 0 2 21 17:09 PHI JAN 23 0 2 2 -1 0 0 0 0 20 16:20 PHI JAN 21 1 1 2 1 0 1 0 2 19 15:22 NYI JAN 18 0 0 0 0 2 0 0 6 17 15:02 NJD JAN 16 0 0 0 -1 0 0 0 1 19 15:07
  11. Hoglander, Demko, Juolevi, Rafferty, Chatfield, tomorrow Brisbois, Rathbone? I believe the kids are in... Who's left Lind?
  12. Boys in Blue off to a great start. Not trying to knock on anybody , but Chatfield looks much better than Juolevi did to me so far. Yes way too early to judge but my eye test tells me Chatfeild is in for the near future. Calm, cool. collect. Moves the puck out of his zone like a vet and has some IDGAF lets go attitude.

  14. 2 years of coming into camp under coaches standard. Gets called out publicly by the GM after a poor playoffs. After all that he comes in this year without much drive in him again. If anybody needed to come out of the gates flying it was Jake. I've been one to back this guy up waiting patiently for him to mature. Obviously it's just not going to happen in this city. He doesn't fit in the top 6 simply because he's not smart enough. Hogs is already passed him & Podz will undoubtedly do the same. I'm not sure he fits in our bottom 6 either as he's not hungry or gritty enough. He seems to play to not get hurt or scratched or bruised or mess his pretty hair up in anyway. Motter, Macewan, Roussel, Gaudette, even Beagle bring more to the table than Virtanen does. His strengths is in his skating when he has open space and his quick hard shot. Just like in junior where he could use that more regularly with his physicality. Unfortunately that kind of space & one dimensional play doesn't translate to the NHL or even AHL as we've seen & his physicality play has pretty much disappeared. This guy is not willing to put in the work/hustle, throw the big hits drive to the net and in your face hockey that he needs to do to be an impact player he could be. Kind of a pretty boy attitude which isn't working or flying with his team mates, GM, etc. Address change might be the only thing that wakes him up. Just my humble opinion after 9 years of watching him develop. PS. Truly still HOPE Jake can prove me wrong, but I'm starting to lose faith just a bit as you can see.
  15. lol I remember you were another claiming he was 6'4''...
  16. So I said 6'1''-6'2''. You're saying 6'3''. So the real argument you are making here is 1". lol. Like I said earlier, EDLER is 6'3". When Podz gets here & is equal to EDLERS height I will 100% admit i was wrong. I hope you do the same. We'll be talking soon RWMc1 & Deb.
  17. My eye puts him t 6'1'' - 6'2'' today... But 6'4'' https://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=218396 -6'0'' https://dobberprospects.com/player/vasili-podkolzin/ -6'1'' https://www.celebsagewiki.com/vasily-podkolzin 6'0'' https://www.capebretonpost.com/sports/hockey/canucks-top-10-prospects-vasili-podkolzins-two-way-game-is-nearly-nhl-ready-505245/ 6'1'' https://canucksarmy.com/2020/09/08/video-vancouver-canucks-prospect-vasili-podkolzin-scores-goal-khl-season/ In other news, the KHL website has also updated its height and weight information of Podkolzin, claiming that he is 192cm (6’3″) tall. I don’t know if I can 100% say that he is not 6’3″, but I am pretty certain he is still the shortest player on his young guns line, he is potentially taller than Kirill Marchenko, who is listed at 189cm (6’2″) on the KHL site. Ivan Morozov is measured at 6’1″ on the KHL website yet he is noticeably taller than both Marchenko and Podkolzin. So who knows what’s going on with that Russian website! Sorry to be the bearer of bad news on the height thing. The website also has him at 92kgs (203lbs). That is possible as he does look thicker than last season. It’s hard to tell on the ice but I just don’t think he grew three inches since being drafted. In the end, it was a good performance from Podkolzin today and we will continue to follow his year in the KHL as it goes on.
