  1. Feel that is a pretty good bet although I’m not sure why 2x2.75M would have been too much unless he just wanted to go back to the US or out East.
  2. I must have needed another coffee. Was in literal mode only at that point. My narrative is still that moving Miller is better for the medium term of this franchise. Our right side D needs a major upgrade before we can commit 8.5 x 7 to a 30 year old Miller. Miller is really the only thing that can be moved to help fix that.
  3. Exactly this. Unless you get value on D in return I don't see Garland going anywhere. He's our cost controlled, much improved version of Pearson.
  4. I personally feel that paired with OEL, it offsets any poor play in his own zone, but it would have to come at a discount without other moves. Either way, I'm not sure a pylon best describes a fleet footed D either.
  5. It's the system that works. If there is one D on the point (OEL) and you use Hughes as a rover/forward. I think you put your most talented group out there as they don't play the same as 5on5 anyways.
  6. Just so I get this correct, are you saying if we move Miller for something like Severson and Holtz, we go from a playoff team to the bottom 2 in the league?
  7. He is, but just on PP2 to give it some life
  8. This is great to see. He appears to be progressing nicely. He's definitely got the size and skating ability.
  9. Assuming Miller is moved for Severson ++ I would have the following PP units: PP1 - OEL, Hughes, Kurmenko, Pettersson, Boeser PP2 - Rathbone, Garland, Podkolzin, Horvat, Mikheyev Severson would likely fit in here as somebody would likely be injured or underperforming.
  10. I would just have both OEL and Hughes on PP1. They offer elite PP ability and would complement each other well. Would be nice to have OEL on the point and Hughes as a rover on PP1. They could offset each other on the rush and zone entry to mix it up a bit too.
  11. Reading up a bit about point 3, yeah I agree.....No thanks.
  12. I knew he was overrated as a franchise D, but as a #2 I thought he would be a good fit if the salary was reduced. Didn't know about his political views, but sounds like I have some searching to do.
  13. Trade with NJ is what we need to do, and I doubt the first one happens, but I would make that trade if Chi went for it. I would skip the Anaheim one.
  14. Clearly a Seth Jones fan...... Not a fan of Popeye Jones either? Doesn't really matter anyways, as we appear to be sticking with Poolman, Myers and Schenn anyways.
  15. Now that he is in the Pacific he is likely to regain form and be a Canuck killer.
  16. Chicago was trash last year and I think Columbus wasn't good enough before that. In either location, there wasn't the insulation for him to not just be out in every situation paired with other subpar partners. Paired with Hughes on PP1 and OEL on PK1 would balance the D out pretty well. 9.5 is super steep, but 8-8.5 is in Miller territory and he would arguably fill a greater need on our team plus gain us 2-3 years which is better for our window.
  17. I would have to think that Seth Jones would be one of the more perfect fits for Quinn Hughes on the right side and definitely doesn't fit the Chicago rebuild timeline. He is only 27 and paid until 33. Now he is a little overpaid, but if Chicago is in full rebuild then maybe they can help a bit there. What about a three way deal with NYI: To Vancouver Seth Jones (1M per year retained by Chicago) To New York Islanders JT Miller To Chicago New York Islanders 1st Bode Wilde Nils Hoglander The following would be a pretty major upgrade to our right side D: Hughes Jones OEL Myers (Maybe we can still snag Severson in other ways) Rathbone Schenn Extras: Dermott Poolman
  18. 1000 pages and nothing. Lame. I'm going to guess it happens at page 1099.
  19. Now they have their cost controlled Defense in order. Time for Severson to be traded somewhere.....
  20. Those would be the ideal RD's for us based on what could be available. OEL and Larsson would be a great pairing as would Hughes and Severson. Severson + a strong prospect for Miller would be pretty straightforward deal, but I'm curious what it would take to pry Larsson from Seattle since they signed him and he provides some stability for them as they bring up their young guys. Would Pearson as a future trade chip and Hoglander be enough to do that? I doubt it would be enough.
  21. Can't do that, they have to combine their power for good. They need to unite their tre kronor rings together to form the greatest duo to ever play the game of hockey!
  22. 1000 pages and Miller gets traded for Severson and Holtz. The deal has been done with NJ for weeks, but JR/PA are waiting for us to do our part and hit that milestone. Klingberg deal has also been finalized for weeks. Final push and we get to find out.....
  23. To be honest, I've been thinking the same thing for a while. His game last year impressed me and with his leadership he has shown in Abby I think he should have a real chance to show his defensive abilities. Not sure he's at a top 4 level yet until he gets another injury free season under his belt, but he could be a good starter with Rathbone. I really hope we have something in the works though to improve the right side.
  24. It needs some corrections as Pearson shouldn't be a 4th line winger and Lazar shouldn't be a 3C either (Maybe Dickinson can find his game again). I was originally hoping Pearson would move for Zacha, but that never happened. Other tweaks are needed, but adding the likes of Klingberg, Severson, Holtz for Miller improves the team in my mind.
