Gabriel Carlsson would have been a nice add if he was a righty. Maybe as a 6/7 it would work, but we need to build up the right side.

I just went by the original post that he is seeking 4x4. Any player seeking an amount would be typically ask higher than they would get, but if it's 4x4 after moving Myers, then that is likely fine too as he meets a need.

Less about the age of Malkin vs Miller and more about how many years their contracts would end to sign our young stars to their next deals.

This timing could actually work really well. Move Miller to a team and collect the assets to fill out the rest of the team needs, and sign Malkin to a shorter contract than Miller. That money gets off the books by the time the next wave of players, (Podz, Hogz, Rathbone, Lekkerimaki, Kuzmenko etc) need some new money.

Trade Myers for a 2nd and sign Zadorov for 4 x 3.5M. Lefty that plays right side. Nice pairing for OEL to let OEL do his thing on offense this year.

If Marino is already being moved, then maybe a straight Myers for Marino swap. Essentially it's just a swap of roster fits. Pens get older, however their window is now, so it still makes sense.

I think the vast majority of people like Miller, but are in the camp of the longer term play by getting organization depth (Me and 50%) vs we are ready so we need to secure our star player (The other 50%). I think Miller is a very good player, but classifying him as a franchise type player is a bit of a stretch. We need to meet our organizational needs while his value is highest.

Completely agree. I think they label everyone as Miller haters, where in fact I don't think there is one poster on here that doesn't like Miller. It's doing what is needed to move this organization ahead. My favorite is also Miller being a 100 point player. He hasn't trended anywhere near that in the past and then puts up an impressive 99 point year. He's a 70 point player (Which is valuable) but he won't exceed the contract he will be given.

Deal could come from anywhere. Not sure any of the insiders actually know what is going on, and it could actually surprise us.
