First attending game of the season tomorrow and It looks to be a barn burner. Even Greta is in town to watch her Swedish countrymen in Petey and Backstrom. Let’s see how much the Caps have left after Edmonton tonight.

Indeed it is one that definitely displays the pretenders to the contenders and it is one stat that always holds true come April. So far so good, let’s see if this group can keep it up.

I am not sure if it’s been already said. We have plenty of power forwards on this team now. Bo, Jake,Ferland,Miller and Pearson all big bodies with skill and big motors. Now the thing with power forwards is that they can change the game but don’t show up every game. But man with all these power forwards we have, having one or two each game give us enough power and grit to get the W’s. Might be big but we are fast. What can you say about the goaltending other than lights out. Haven’t had a tandem like this since Lou and Schneiderman. It is a little pre mature to talk about trading one or the other for Seattle but it is indeed a great problem to have. I was wrong about the result of tonight’s game as usually this sort of game is a trap ending a eastern road trip and red wings were a desperate team losing 4 straight now 5. But I’m happy that I’m wrong and looking forward to be at the game against the Caps on Friday. Way to go Capt Bo and your 3rd period hat trick too! So much goodness right now.

I will say this is a trap game. Wings have lost four straight need goals and are pissed about the 5-1 loss last week to the Nucks. Our boys are finishing the road trip and will get jumped on because they are thinking about going home facing the capitals. You Jaked Quinn on the rush there big Tuna. Let the man skate! Overall not a bad period. Just an unfortunate clearing attempt got us behind in the game but all in all it’s been a fairly competitive game thus far.

I am not shocked of hearing this news. Anybody else recall Rick name drop Donnie a few times in the last little while calling him a “good guy”. I do wonder how much Rick knew the writing on the wall as mentioning the competition is a big no no on the airwaves. Rick mentioned Donnie the other station more than a few occasions.

While Jawn did not have hockey know how or any real sports background knowledge. His takes and Dawn Dangs were what made me laugh. Might’ve been too optimistic and speaking too much false hope. But his outlook and opinions made it entertaining as he wasn’t correct with many of his takes. Still wondering what splitting potatoes means and also,(How was Alfredson on the cover of NHL) when he never was Jawn? With these additional cuts to the ones we saw before the season started (Kipper,Shannon,MacLean) it appears that Rogers is too broke to afford any talent after blowing their load on the big 5.2 billion dollar 12 year NHL deal. Goes to show what kind of people are stirring the ship when you keep penny pinching on staff talent. 2026 is a longtime away Rogers, get your $€!+ in order.
