  1. Fans come in all sorts and it had been the same since sports was created. Not so sure, of the category differences cause we are all a little bit of both and having different opinions, is what makes for a good discussion. Let's hear more of your analysis in the forum... As for Johansson, he is at this point a free prospect with a draft pedigree.
  2. Imo, he seemed overpaid under Green but under Boudreau he is not looking too bad.
  3. Don't think Fitz has the appetite to trade a high lottery pick but a Miller would do more for his teams development than another lottery ticket - imo cause despite all the high end talents, his teams overall record is still mediocre.
  4. Dolan stepped in to fire Davidson & Gorton to make a run with the Panarin core cause it seem he didn't agree with there timeline. Good chance, the Rags will call and Allvin should be asking for more - imo cause they have a window with the Panarin core and there lottery picks (Laff & Kakko) aren't looking too good, as star players. Right now, they have a goalie, there core are in there prime and they have homegrown complementary pieces on the cheap contributing - perfect time to make a run, with the hope that some of the young players can continue it when the Panarin core are in decline.
  5. The only one's more delusional than the Laff fans are Dubas & Shanahan - they had Lou but he had enough sense to move on and be his own boss...
  6. After the gift from Santa Benning he will be retiring and hopefully, he earns some of that coin with the remaining years left (?).
  7. Depends on ...... nvm, let's keep it family friendly. Hope he puts it together and becomes a roster player when Myers retires or gets traded....
  8. Best trade by Gillis, by far. His draft pedigree, alone was enough to make the deal happen.
  9. You're not alone and he seems intriguing due to his draft pedigree.
  10. Same but Boudreau felt comfortable with Hunt. Would really had liked to had seen Juulsen get a better audition for the upcoming year but I understand cause they were chasing a spot till the very end. Almost won the Purgatory cup but Vegas beat us to it - yay !
  11. Did Pronger signed off on this pick cause he sorta looks like him ? Plus, Fenton was only there for a year, then Guerin took over. Hindsight, has not been kind on this pick in the 1st round and perhaps, if he was picked outside the 1st round this signing would be a nothing burger. Anyways, free RHD prospect and hopefully he developes into a roster player....
  12. I cringe while remembering the Nonis pressers and the talk shows, after drafting White: Nonis tried to sell the White pick but it was all about him, with hindsight To add, Perron came after - very similar to when JB drafted McCann before Pasternak. Anyways, there is also the opposite: Moritz with Detroit. As for the signing, I am interested to see, how effective and what part the new Player Development Department will have with prospects outside of Abby/ Culls' influence ? Anyways, a FREE RHD prospect, for the team to develope or experiment on; hoping he developes.
  13. Any other benefits you had experienced, from the NA diet ?
  14. The north american diet, should take care of the weight issue.
  15. Same, question I have. Will the new Player Development Department, be more in play as an experiment to see, of its effectiveness vs in Abby with Cull ? Will Abby, be filled with more NHL tweeners to keep it competitive, whilst, some/most prospects will be in other leagues, to be looked after by the new department (headlined by the Sedins) ?
  16. Seems like, Fenton tried to make a name for himself with the pick ?
  17. Would rather avoid helping out the Yotes again. Hopefully, Allvin has more sense than JB when cleaning out the teams cap problems.
  18. Yeah, only heard about these types of compensation in Baseball. Can anyone elaborate on the rule(s) ?
  19. Signing Nurse, to a 9.5 million per year contract (same as Hedman) doesn't help there cap when filling the goalie position. Spoliers are top heavy with questionable d and no goalie. Atleast, JB with Clarkes' insistence & tutelage the Canucks are doing well, in the goalie department.
  20. Great discussions. Firstly, it will boil down to how much time, Aquaman will give JR & friends and how successful the new crew will be in selling & executing there plans. For awhile, now the team has focused on spending some draft capital on a goalie every year or two and it is paying off cause of Clarke, whilst other team(s) like Carolina & LA had instead focused on spending some draft capital on RHD, every year. Drafting or player acquisition (via draft or trades) is one part and the hardest part is development; hopefully, the new Player Development Department (headlined by the Sedins) can mitigate any failure from the Abby group, when it comes to player development. Preferably, they sell high on certain players by targeting RHD prospects & premium picks as assets coming back, going BPA with there 1st and filling needs with the rest of the picks. JR, Allvin & Clancy were part of the Penguins front office that won two cups but they were not the crew that drafted that HOF core, regardless, there time there should give them some experience on what players to look for to build around the young core of EP & Hughes. The Canucks are in danger of getting stuck in NHL purgatory but atleast, for two more years, JR is here to (hopefully) guide Allvin, in the right direction ? It seems the draft is where Allvin will be making his moves but still cautiously optimistic that the teams third straight rookie GM, can deliver.
  21. Wasn't bashing Bo - if that is what your implying, rather, the last leadership. Just my POV: he wasn't ready, unlike Linden who was a natural fit - is my point. I did also, say a bunch of A's would had probably been the better choice - at the time - but that team needed a distraction or something positive to sell...
  22. Sadly, for Bo the whole process of naming him as the young Captain was nothing more of a publicity stunt - but not surprising with the mediocrity associated with Aquaman & the last regime (including Green) Anyways, he was still coming into his own and Tanev would had been a better choice or even a bunch of Assistance - at that time. Perhaps Green wanted a symbolistic type of Captian, that was young and someone he trusted ? As for Miller, he had proven over time he was the right choice cause of his ability to rally the roster. Hopefully, a successful offseason can help turn the page from the last leadership group..
  23. Yeah, this is what happens when the reasons are not the right one. As long as, Ratman is incharge the Arizona experiment and others will continue. So far, the NHL is still a profitable business but in time the same ideas will start turning that around - this is not going to get any better, until the old way of doing business has changed and the internet is the change.
  24. Read somewhere that the biggest reason for having a team in Phoenix is because of the TV deal: (not sure, of exact ranking) Arizona is the 8th biggest TV market, in the US
