  3. Canucks need to sign Karl Marxstrom in the offseason, he wants to stay with the Canucks and they can get a deal on him. He's a socialist and will sign at a discount for the greater good of the people.
  4. Could you imagine what would have happened if he did that 30 years ago? Full on Donny Brooke. He did just lightly bump Marky after the late shot but any team would have lost it in the old days. He's a really good player though, nice to see him bounce back after this a couple years ago.
  5. He played really good last game in just over 8 minutes ice time. I think he was really good again today but he got even less ice time. Wasn't Greens fault though. lots and lots of penalties this game. I think Green is a good coach, i've been annoyed by the not playing of Virtanen or rewarding him with ice time for good play. In hindsight, Sutter has been excellent and Ferland earned the spot so the benching in game one isn't too bad. Gaudette got some experience but it makes more sense to have Sutter centering the third line with Virtanen over in over Gaudette. Guess Green isn't as dumb as he looks.

  9. 888 sportsbet picks for today NYI over FLA NAS Over ARI Draw TB/BOS COL over DAL PITT over MTL EDM over CHI current record since the return: 17-11 I've been critical of Green's treatment of Virtanen. You have to give credit when it's due as well. Good job bouncing back last game,

  11. 888Poker Sposrtbets for today NYI over FLA ARI over Nash Col over Tor Winn over Cal Car over NYR Van over Min (2 bucks on this one, Vancouver should bounce back) I was going to take some draws, took 3 draws yesterday and hit on the TB/WAS game. Then i realized they don't want OT in the play-in series because it will overlap the next game. Thats why they called a penalty on Calgary with less than 3 minutes in the game down by a goal, They only have an hour and a bit between games, what would they do if there's a double OT? Postpone the next game? My record at 888sportsbet so far since the return. 14-8

  13. Green gets outcoached by intern coaches, he makes average coaches look like Jack Adams winners. Did you hear his post game interview when asked about Ferland fight? It's obvious he doesn't like players standing up for themselves or their team mates by fighting. That would explain the lack of response to dirty hits like the ones on Pettersson and Leivo. That would explain why Roussell doesn't play the way he did in Dallas and it would explain his refusal to play Virtanen. Sutter had one good rush last night but it seemed like MIN backed off because he isn't a threat to score. If Virtanen was on that line, it was probably a goal. Oh but we need 6 penalty killing forwards or minny might go 2-3 on the PP................oh wait.
  14. it would be tied 2-2 if Virtanen was in instead of Sutter.
  15. He's like the George W Bush of hockey. He's also the hockey whisperer Green has shown time and time again he doesn't like a response like that and i'm sure is part of his dislike for Virtanen. Look at all the times the Canucks didn't respond like the Matheson one. The only times that i can remember that they did was usually Virtanen or Gudbranson. Virtanen probably has more penalty minutes standing up for team mates than any one else on the team. I doubt it's not his team mates that don't like him, it's just Green.
  16. That's my take on it. We've seen the same pattern from the last 3 coaches. Torts/Gillis with the Goalie situation, WD?JB, that cost us Tryamkin, Green/JB Schaller over Viraten, Goldobin. Goldobin was on pace fro over 50 points on Petterssons line before Green started with his results don't matter BS. I get a player needs to improve defensively but he showed that and Green still didn't give him a shot.
  17. Why would you want that in the playoffs? Remember, it's not what we saw in the games all season that matters, it's what happens in practise.
  18. Ingenious coaching. I guess results in games matters less than performance in training. I guess thats what the philosophy was with Schaller. I guess Mike Tyson will regain his HW belt at 53 because he looked great hitting the heavy bag.
  19. Still no word on the lineups? I saw a FB post from one of the fan feeds. They implied Green would scratch Virtanen for sure because he didn't have a good thing to say about him or his play. I didn't bother reading because Green never has a positive thing to say about him, it doesn't necessarily mean he'll bench him. He may begrudgingly give him about 5 minutes on the 4th line.
