  1. Having worked as a doctor in both the u.s and Canada the systems prioritize very different things. America has the best car and the worst care. It depends on how much money you have and your area code. If seen hospitals (south side Chicago) that would be at the level of a developing countries hospital. Dirty, overworked staff, few resources, poor care. I've also seen the other end of fancy vip wards with same day knee MRIs. For the vast majority of people in Canada the Publix system wins. For people worth 10 million plus the U.S is probably better. Insurance doesn't even cover much at the beginning. Deductibles are huge for most people. Copays are insane as well. My copay with insurance was 80 dollars for a fd visit in network. Some times you can get better insurance through small network but then you could be screwed over at any minute by an out of network doctor. The vast majority of people who complain about public healthcare only think about what they don't have. They don't think about all the other stuff they would have had to pay for or think about. Imagine not being able to retire or quit your job because you could literally go bankrupt from a health issue. Imagine being stuck paying 75 dollars with insurance for a 5 minute doctor visit for refills.
  2. 4th line should be a rock em sock em line that is responsible defensively. Smart money is on stacking the first three lines. Don't waste money on the fourth. Fine some big guys that are smart defensively and can lay some hits, turn the momentum and don't get scored on. I'd be happy if they didn't score a single goal all year. But make the other teams players pay the price every shift.
  3. I definitely believe. Not sure why some people want to blow it up. I feel like some people want to just tank till they draft gretzkey reincarnated. If we traded petterson we are not getting someone as good or better. Best case we get picks. Unless it's a top 5 pick odds say they won't be very good or make it. Even with a top 5 pick odds are against us. Instead we should focus on the fact that we are winning despite Petterson. Imagine if he was on his game? The Canucks were not dominated against winninpeg. They traded chances. Watching live Van had so many opportunities but many times they miscommunicated. These plays will come with time as they get used to the new system. Let them finish out the season. Let petterson try to return to form until at least next Nov although I think he's going to start improving a bit each game.
  4. Canucks dominating possession so far. Obviously struggling with knowing where to be and connecting passes but they are attacking way harder. Playing 2-1-2!
  5. This is 100% a coaching issue. I've been lucky to watch most games from high up. On the pk they are dropping way way too low. The opposing teams are passing right by the 1 Canucks player pressuring. The point men and corner men are able to walk right in and launch bombs. It was so obvious they were going to get scored on from the moment the pk started. The d are just standing around since they are so close to the net and then just screen the goalie.
  6. I was hoping green could turn the tide but he's done. Fire him and hire Dan Bylsma. Fire Benning if the Canucks are in a playoff spot by Olympic break.
  7. I recently remembered I had actually played against Kyle Beach and even gone to training camp with him. I wasn't good enough to keep going but my heart is just broken seeing him go through what he did. I have lost all respect foe Toews. All he cares about is being a good company man and his own success. He complimented these monsters but bullied Kyle Beach. Also why is Drew doughty left off the hook? He was part of that $&!# show as well. Hockey culture is horse $&!#. I've also recently learned a childhood friend's career was ended after being Called the N word by the opposing coach and then hit from behind the next shift. Being a company man shouldn't be a compliment. Standing up for those with less power then you not standing up for those with more power is what makes a true leader. They can take those Stanley Cups and Gold Medals and shove them. Imagine it was your child that was raped and subsequently bulied and covered up.
  8. When will the Canucks learn you can't have your only tough guy be a dman. Kassian already bullying the Canucks
  9. Petterson and boeser look totally out of shape. If they can get going the Canucks look solid especially if hamonic comes back. Defense are beasts size wise and they can skate. Bo looks like a beast. I have high hopes.
  10. Garbage B's reffing. Haven't been this upset since the Peterson body slam. Canucks got screwed this game. Refs should be ashamed. No calls for all the crap Detroit pulled. This is why the Canucks need another heavy weight. To shut Bertuzzi up. Although I'm loving Myers tough game. He shouldn't have to carry the load alone. Myers, OEL and Hughes were beasts.
  11. Anyone know how hard it is to sell club 500 tickets for resale for premium games (Montreal/Toronto). Thinking of getting tickets but I definitely won't be able to go to all the games.
  12. Toradol is the drug most mentioned in this documentary. Over the years sports leagues have been transitioned from opioids due to the huge risk of addiction and overdose. In comparison Toradol is a non steroidal anti-inflammatory that does not lead to addiction. However it can have other side effects such as stomach and kidney damage. Toradol is used in Football, Baseball and Basketball regularly as well. These athletes stand in front of pucks flying at a 100km an hour. They are going to get hurt and break bones. It just going to happen. When they get injured it is in their short term best interest, the teams best interest and the trainers best interest to get the players pain free as fast as possible. Athletes have proven they will do whatever it takes to win. The only way to stop athletes from taking these medications is to ban them. But what next? Tylenol can have harmful effects as well, if taken too often. Do we stop any prescription management? Do we stop any natural pain management since we may not know their risks and side effects? I think that at the begining of each season, each athlete should sit down with a league employed physician and pharmacist and create a list of medications they are willing and not willing to take. Also team should be required to follow strict guidelines on dosing and frequency in line with best medical practices. This should restrict what team physicians can provide players and insures that they are made aware of the risks. Otherwise no team trainer is going to say no to a player that asks for Toradol too often. In the end there will always be the choice of sacrificing your long term health versus short term career benefits. Just like blocking shots and taking a hit. In the end it's a choice they need to make and should not blame others for the consequences.
  13. Finally a fricken call. Such BS. Refs are useless. Fiala is untouchable but Peterson can be tripped on every play.
  14. Columbus is playing solid defense with no offense. Canucks just have to keep pushing the pace and avoid defensive lapses.
