Oh wow, I didn't know Gaunce has turned into such an important defensive forward. Teams must be cowering in fear to play against us with him anchoring our 4th line shutting them down. He must be one in a kind, being a great defensive forward who can manage to go pointless forever and ever. Any thought about switching Gaunce to defense? Better pony up a multimillion dollar contract for Gaunce based on his great defensive play described in your false reality statement.

Megna does all of that and does it better. Megna also scores. So are you saying we should bring Megna up? Dunno what's with the blind love for Gaunce on this board. He's had his ice time and didn't prove his stay. He's also just 23 years old and could be better next season. Right now he is just taking away a roster position from guys like Goldobin or Boucher who is more ready than he is.

Sending him to the AHL is not to help him to score, it is because he is not contributing enough to be a full time NHLer nor is he showing any near-term promise. So Gaunce should now be a project waiting in the AHL until there is an opportunity for him again.

I like Gaunce but this kid is anti-offense. He needs to spend some time in AHL and give his space to someone like Goldobin when our lineup gets crowded again.

Except, Virtanen is already in his 2nd year and you pull up his 1st year numbers... In his 2nd year, he is deemed un-NHL worthy by his coach/GM, demoted to the AHL and underproducing there. Ring a bell?

Stop bringing up players from a decade ago for godsakes... Be a bit relevant and use modern players. Ovechkin, Benn, Simmonds, Lucic, Kreider. You dinosaurs are just scared to be relevant because you know when you line up Virtanen with comparable players, he is progressing way behind schedule. I even fail to see why label Virtanen as a powerforward... He isn't even that big. He lays out some big hits, he has a dense body and good speed. But he can't win body battles in front of the net or along the boards, hes just not that big or strong.

How does Gaunce play 43 games without a goal and still have a roster spot? I like Gaunce, but send him to the AHL already!! Granted, we are playing guys like Megna/Chaput. (I like Skille he deserves a spot).

Hes got motor. He is going to blossom into a 30 point player (minimum) down the road for us.

Doesnt work... the organization has to develop the players from draft with the players developing together and growing up together. So that the bleed Canuck and their drive and will to sacrifice is strong. Like.. Toews/Kane/Keith/Seabrook, Crosby/Malkin/Fleury/Letang, Kopitar/Brown/Doughty/Quick. We had somewhat of a poor man's version with Horvat/Shinkaruk/Virtanen/McCann. But now we are trading them away for "developed" bandaids? Look again at the above examples and wave the cup goodbye.

It is true. And it is funny how just a couple of years ago 80% of people on here was like give Kassian patience, he is going to breakout at 25-26 years old. Funnier yet that when he gets traded everyone calls him a crackhead and his supporters evaporated in one day.

Because, if it wasnt obvious enough already... 1. Boeser is a year younger 2. People are expecting Virtanen to come back to the NHL and start producing. If he cant even get things done in WJC, how will he get things done in the NHL?
