    Honestly, at this point I’d look to trade Horvat for a player who could be our clear-cut 3rd line center option. A player like Joel Eriksson Ek, locked up for the foreseeable future at a decent cap hit, would be the perfect sort of player. If we could squeeze a draft pick from them too, that would be great. Some cap flexibility and a little draft capital…get it done JR!

    Well, I guess it’s good we didn’t draft him. I was screaming at the screen for GMJB to take him, but can you imagine dealing with this now?

    I get why our odds are so low. Even if we win 6 of 8, and LA only gets 3 W’s the rest of the way, we would only squeak in based on a tie-breaker. And that’s assuming Vegas doesn’t exist. Unfortunately I think LA probably picks up 8 points in the next few weeks (Columbus, Seattle, Blackhawks again, and one against the Ducks), and I have a hard time imagining us doing better than 5 of 8. Who knows though…

    I was thinking I should do a drinking game around every time Boeser makes a lazy play or gives the puck away. But then I realized I’d be hammered all game every game. Do not want to see that clown get north of 7 mill on this team…

    Retaining some salary is brilliant! We don’t need the cap space until it comes off the books anyway, and if that pushes us into first round pick territory, plus a great prospect, so worth doing.

    We need a top 4 RHD. Boeser is going to get over 7 million next contract. That really hampers our ability to resign Bo in 2 years, even with Luongo’s garbage money coming off the cap. (We’re losing Miller no matter what). Seider would be cost-controlled almost until OEL comes off the books. Would hurt to lose Boeser, but the pick-up of Garland helps. It’s our best chance to fix the back end.
