  1. "That's a good team over there."
  2. The Caps had a rare road win tonight. Gauld and the boys beat Portland 3-2.
  3. According to Betway, Edmonton and Toronto are co-favourites to win the Cup at the end of this season. Thoughts?
  4. Oppenheimer - 4/5 Air - 3.5/5 Gran Turismo - 3.5/5 Guardians of the Galaxy 3 - 3.5/5 No Hard Feelings - 3.5/5 Sound of Freedom - 3.5/5 The Meg 2 - 3/5
  5. Turk Broda was one of the best goalies of all time. He also missed 2.5 years of his prime fighting in the Second World War. He was great in the playoffs, with a goals against average of 1.98, and winning 5 Cups. I would certainly rank him up there with Roy as the greatest playoff goalie.
  6. It was a tough loss for the Caps at home this evening. The team controlled play, but couldn't finish, losing 1-0 to San Jose.
  7. There are a lot of things to consider: era played in, team success, influence, regular season performance, playoff success, awards, longevity, 5-7 peak year performance, etc. The 7 listed goalies are almost certainly in the top ten NHL goalies of all time. The age and personal bias of the voter will affect the rankings. Even an intelligent, long time player, coach, and fan as myself cannot pick who is #!.
  8. Alf's top 4 look good. I would rank Lidstrom as one of the top 8 defensemen of all time, and possibly top 30 players overall.
  9. Picking the top 10 NHL (or NBA) players of all time is difficult. One has to consider positions played, different eras, rule changes, longevity, personal stats and accolades, team championships, etc. Picking a top 15 or 20 is much easier. My personal top 5 would have Gretzky, Orr, Lemieux, Howe, and Crosby.
  10. Brandon liked Vancouver, but he sure was unlucky with injuries and illness while here. He is a good guy. The Sutters grew up and/or lived in Viking, Red Deer, Lethbridge, Edmonton, and Calgary, but none of them actually played for the Oilers. I wish Brandon the best of luck.
  11. Tough loss for the Whitecaps. That was the longest penalty shootout I have ever seen. Each team took 19 shots!
  12. NHL teams have 18 skaters, not 5. In a single game, with only 5 players on a team, Team 1 could win, but in a series, I would bet on Team 2.
